What do you feel like insurance agents need to do in terms of branding themselves, their agencies, the carriers they represent?
**Johnny Gwin** (0:08)
When you are marketing something you're not in control of, you're not in control.
**Scott Howell** (0:13)
The very last thing I do, I get agreement from them, and then I end the call with making damn sure whatever I say I'm going to do gets done.
**Bradley Flowers** (0:25)
How many hours did your team spend last week on policy reviews? Quote comparisons? Lost run extractions? Now multiply that by what your producers cost per hour. That's the number that out market eliminates. The reason that I love Ascend is they are the only vendor focused on helping agents automate all of their manual finances and accounting practices, which is really the boring stuff, but that's really where the rubber meets the road in terms of profitability to your agency.

We're going to write business with carriers that make it easy for us to write business with.
**Bradley Flowers** (0:57)
If the conditions have to be right for you to succeed, your success is conditional. It's not real success.

Play like champions, man. Here we go.
Insurance agents from around the world, welcome to The Insurance Guys Podcast. My name is Scott Howell, your fearless host and leader, insurance agency owner and insurance evangelist for I Protect Insurance and Financial Services based out of Huntsville, Alabama. And before we get started on today's episode, please help me welcome, he is a six foot three sophomore from Mobile, Alabama, Parade First Team All-American Rivals five-star recruit. He is a fantastic insurance agent and a great American. Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together and welcome, the incomparable Mr. Bradley Flowers. How are you Bradley?
**Bradley Flowers** (1:48)
That was a good intro.
**Scott Howell** (1:50)
Oh, thank you.
**Bradley Flowers** (1:51)
That first one, you're always fresh.
**Scott Howell** (1:53)
I am, yeah, that first fresh intro.
**Bradley Flowers** (1:55)
Did you go on a little walking tour of Mobile last night?
**Scott Howell** (1:57)
I did. You didn't get murdered? I did.
As the fractional sales leader for Portal Insurance, I try my dead level best to come up with some fresh and new creative for you and your team to help catapult you to the moon.
**Bradley Flowers** (2:17)
I enjoyed the one idea about the tower.
**Scott Howell** (2:19)
Yeah, climbing on top of the RSA tower and hanging off of it like Donkey Kong with a flag that says Portal Insurance. I really think that might take you to the next level, Bradley.
**Bradley Flowers** (2:30)
I think it would.
**Scott Howell** (2:31)
Hey, I've been doing some ciphering this morning on my way over. I've got a three-minute ride from my hotel, Hampton Inn. I want to just go ahead this morning and apologize to whoever the next person is that stays in room 710 at the Hampton Inn in Mobile. Bad day for you, but anyway, if I start staying at the Admiral Hotel, I would go from three minutes away from your office to two minutes away from your office.
**Bradley Flowers** (2:59)
Admiral's haunted though. Oh, well, there is a fantastic restaurant on the first floor though.
**Scott Howell** (3:06)
Really?
**Bradley Flowers** (3:07)
Yes, but one of my favorites here.
**Scott Howell** (3:10)
So, I could go down to a minute and 45 seconds if I stayed next door to the Admiral at the Holiday Inn. There is a Holiday Inn right next to the Admiral.
**Bradley Flowers** (3:23)
And there's a rooftop, panoramic rooftop bar at the Holiday Inn. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn is not a normal Holiday Inn.
**Scott Howell** (3:31)
It's like a nicer one.
**Bradley Flowers** (3:32)
It's a nicer Holiday Inn. It's probably been 10 years since I stayed there.
**Scott Howell** (3:38)
I will say for the size of the city, and Mobile being a big small town, in my opinion, I mean, there's not much that reminds me of Mobile.
I'm very careful when I talk to people about Mobile. I'm like, look, Mobile is like every place else. It's got its good places and its bad places. But I have never been to a place where you'll just be walking down the street and you'll look at this building and there'll be a placard on there and it'll say, yeah, in 1704, the French ambassador to the United States lived here. He later founded the, you know, whatever, Habitat for... whatever it might be. You know, it's just, it's crazy. It's crazy how much history there is in this little town.
