Welcome in What's Wright? with Nick Wright, episode 506 This episode of What's Wright? with Nick Wright is presented to you by Boost Mobile. Also, this is a special episode because I think during today's episode on the board, we hit a quarter million on YouTube. It has been admittedly a somewhat slow climb these last 20, 30,000 subscribers, but a quarter million is something of a milestone. We're 70-ish away.

So if you're watching, if you're tuning in and you are not yet subscribed, we'd love if you subscribed on YouTube. Subscribing on Spotify and iTunes helps us a lot too, but we don't have a public-facing countdown on that like we do on YouTube, so maybe we hit it this morning. Damonza, great to see you. How are you?

Damonza (0:55)

Good to see you, pops. I'm good. I'm good.

Nick Wright (0:58)

How was having your mom kind of, you know, stay in your new apartment for a few days?

Damonza (1:03)

It was very, I should say very convenient, but yeah, she tried to clean up for us a little bit, you know, mom stuff or clean up for me, but yeah, it was great. Okay. I was here at the airport last night, had to really chopped it up.

Nick Wright (1:17)

Yeah, she got walked back in this morning, and the first thing she said to me is, I can't believe I'm not going to see my baby for another six weeks, and my baby in that instance was not you, her eldest child, or baby in that instance was your child.

And so, but yeah, no, it was great. I'm glad that happened. I'm glad you guys had a good time. I'm glad she's back, and we have an awesome show for you today, and I have a ton of energy in part because I don't really have to moderate my energy because no TV show for me today. I'm not sure what is knocking us off the air on FS1. Overtime will be there. We will not be, however. Three to five, there's some live programming on. This is the only place to get my takes out until tomorrow. Let's go straight to voicemail, brought to you by our friends at Boost Mobile. Nick's picks for Fat Bear Week. This is some corner of the internet I was unaware of. The guys explained it to me before the show. I clicked on the link. I could not have been less interested. The UFL is expanding to four new cities, including Colorado Springs. They're going to Utah, they're going to Oklahoma, and they're going to Pawtucket, Rhode Island. My idea was they should call the Rhode Island team the Swifties, try to market to the Swifties since Taylor Swift lives in Rhode Island, fill the stadium that way, and maybe just maybe in a couple of years when Travis retires, he does a little retirement season.

Nothing good.

SPEAKER_3 (2:41)

I'm just telling you.

Nick Wright (2:42)

You want to get the ratings up. I'm just an idea.

And Steven Adams with a very real talk that professional sports leagues are going to be impacted dramatically by the drop of GTA in November. Damonza, how do you think your work-life parenting balance is going to be impacted by the most awaited video game release since you've been an adult?

Damonza (3:13)

I don't know how it's going to be impacted.

I'm going to be finding time to play, though. I'm going to be finding time. I'm going to be finding time somewhere. But I won't impact it, but yeah.

I'll be around.

Nick Wright (3:26)

Yeah, maybe sleep is the one that takes the hit, who knows? A reminder, everyone can email us at what'swrightmailbag at gmail.com.

I want to start with Bill's Chargers, but before I start there, I must add a quick topic that has been thanks to Adrian Broner, who doesn't seem to be doing great. And I think Blueface is the other person involved in this kerfuffle.

Damonza (3:56)

Earthball.

Nick Wright (3:58)

Taking the internet by storm, which is something that, as America's most trusted gambler, which I think I am, I need to get this on the record, and I want to make this very clear. Anyone who doesn't already know this or disagrees with this, I not only judge you as a man or woman for that matter, but I judge your parentage.

If you and I engage in a game of chance, be it a coin flip, a game of billiards, horse, pop a shot, putt putt, who's going to win this game, which dog's going to cross the street first? If we engage in a game of chance for a set amount of money, and I lose and I say double or nothing, that quite simply means we are running it back, and I either owe you double or nothing.
