Hi, everyone.
Justin van der Toorn (0:00)
My name is Justin van der Toorn. I'm the president and CEO of Greenheart Gold. I'm joining you today from our Tosso Creek project, out in the field for this live conversation with Matt. So we've managed to set a few things up and get internet all the way out here in the middle of the rainforest.
Matt (0:15)
Well done. Well done. Well, like we did this before. I think it was a big hit. People really like to see what the makeup of these sort of exploration campaigns that looked like. So Tosso Creek, maybe give us a quick spin around before we start talking numbers.
Justin van der Toorn (0:33)
So just to describe where we are, so we're actually at our trench 11, which is here in front of me and you'll be able to see it on the other shots. Right at the end of this trench, so we had a very nice intersect broad mineralization throughout this trench. At the very end of the trench, you'll see a drill pad and on that drill pad, we drilled the very first hole on this project so far.
We drilled that one, we've drilled a second hole first on the other side and then we're currently drilling a third hole, which is about a hundred meters to the south of us here, where they're just getting set up and just starting that next hole over to the south. So this is part of the initial drill program here where we're following up the trench results and really trying to put together not just we've got these broad zones of mineralization at surface, extending probably one, two kilometers long strike length, but then also trying to get a bit more kind of depth continuity with the drill program as well.
Matt (1:29)
And just talk about the kind of topography and location compared to the main site accession. Give us a sense of what it's like exploring in the region.
Justin van der Toorn (1:38)
Yeah. So well, as you can see, it's, you know, we're in the middle of the rainforest here. There are various pork knocker activities happening. There's actually a bunch of guys driving by right now. So there's small scale artisanal mining that happens mostly within the creeks here and what they're really targeting are the gravels and all the detritol material that's come off the higher topography here, which they're then washing and extracting gold from. For us, that's not really the main target. We're obviously interested in where the source of that gold is. And that's why we're kind of looking up in these higher areas, which tend to represent kind of the more volcanic dominated units. We were actually standing on a volcanic clastic here. So a little bit of a rework volcanic into a clastic. And that's then forming the drill targets we want. So we come in, we initially start with a geochemical program. And that geochemical program is effectively soil sampling, usually 400, 200 meter wide lines, and taking a sample every 50 or so meters. We then obviously analyze that for gold, as well as other elements. And those other elements help us put together the story of what the geology is doing here, and kind of give us a framework to then build on when we start doing trenching and drilling. So the trenching you can see here in front of me, I mean, this trench has a little bit collapsed now. It's a few months old. So we've just come out of the very heavy wet season. It's caused a lot of our earlier trenches to kind of collapse a bit. So we're not going to go in there. There's some trees that have fallen over and kind of filled a bit as well.
And so we do this. We then get the results back from our trenching program, and then effectively we put together a drill program to then test what is the depth continuity, and based on what we think is going on structurally to try and follow up where we think the better grades are going to be within the overall broad mineralized zones.
Matt (3:26)
Okay. I mean, you've done all this before. So I guess the folks might be interested in understanding how you've gone about targeting that location, because the trenching obviously is simple enough, cheap enough, but you kind of work towards where you put the next holes in, and you talked about some of those. So maybe talk about the process up until now, and then we'll get into the holes.
Justin van der Toorn (3:45)
Yeah, so really, we came into Tosso Creek. We've had this for about a year now. We started with that, as I said, the geochemical sampling program.
