President Donald Trump is pushing to replace the term artificial intelligence with super intelligence, arguing that artificial makes the technology sound fake. An executive order directs federal agencies to avoid using AI wherever possible, prompting a series of government rebrands and revised press releases. Trump has even declared that people who continue using artificial intelligence are the enemy.

Several major technology executives, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Jensen Huang and Sam Altman, have publicly embraced the new terminology to varying degrees. Trump has also begun using artificial as a broader insult, applying it to the news media and concerns about inflation linked to war. Experts note that superintelligence traditionally refers to hypothetical systems exceeding human capabilities rather than the entire field of artificial intelligence. The forced rebranding could create confusion by applying the same label to advanced future systems and existing generative tools. Congress and the courts may also continue using artificial intelligence, a phrase embedded in existing laws and legislative proposals.

Critics argue that the campaign is unlikely to ease public concerns about data centers, regulation or the industry's growing influence. Trump's latest naming effort may therefore appear less like a successful rebrand and more like an awkward political euphemism.

Adidas is suing Australian clothing boutique, White Fox, in a dispute over the use of striped designs. The sportswear giant claims White Fox's four-stripe branding is deceptively similar to its trademarked three-stripe logo. Adidas alleges the designs could make consumers associate White Fox with its brand, and accuse the boutique of trading on its reputation. White Fox's lawyers argue that other Australian retailers also use similar decorative stripes. Adidas is seeking damages, profits from the disputed products, interest and legal costs.

Google Cloud has introduced the Gemini agent, a cloud-hosted universal agent designed for enterprise work. The system accepts objectives through a single prompt box or API, then plans tasks, selects tools and skills, connects to company systems and delivers completed work. It maintains session, semantic, procedural and episodic memory to preserve context and improve future performance. The agent supports connectors for platforms including Slack, Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, BigQuery, Snowflake, Desktop files and Model Context Protocol servers. It can route workloads across Google's Gemini models, Anthropix Claude models and additional private and open models planned for future release.

In Google Workspace, persistent coworker agents can receive accounts, calendars and drive access while colleagues interact with them through chat and docs. For data teams, the agent can write PySpark code, create notebooks, train models and troubleshoot pipelines, while business users can generate reusable BigQuery reports. Google is also introducing knowledge catalog, smart storage and borderless lake house to improve data grounding and access across enterprise environments.

Governance controls define who can use the agent, what actions it can take, what it has done and which resources it must not access. Smart routing and real-time spending limits are intended to control model costs and pause projects when predefined budgets are reached.

OpenAI has told investors that it expects to generate about 50 billion dollars in revenue this year, 20 billion dollars below a figure it signaled last month. The discrepancy has raised fresh questions about the pace of demand for artificial intelligence and unsettled technology markets. The Nasdaq fell 1.4%, while NVIDIA, Oracle and Micron also recorded sharp declines. OpenAI investors said the lower figure reflects differences in how revenue is measured compared with rival Anthropic. Anthropic counts sales made through cloud partners including Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, while OpenAI does not.

OpenAI is reportedly in early talks to raise 30 billion dollars at a valuation of about 1.4 TAN. The company's chief executive Sam Altman has ruled out a stock market listing this year, citing concerns over AI safety. Political pressure for tighter regulation is growing after warnings that rapid development without safeguards could pose extreme risks. Anthropic is reportedly preparing for a possible initial public offering as soon as next month. Meanwhile, SoftBank founder Masayoshi Sun is seeking up to 100 BIL from Gulf investors to expand his company's already substantial AI investments.
