George Conway: Subpoenas Are Coming

The Bulwark Daily

October 15, 2026

Mike Johnson sure sounds afraid of what might come out when the House—under Democratic control—actually does its job and investigates the corruption of this administration. Democrats should start with the families of Trump officialdom who've been making bank since Inauguration Day.

Hello, and welcome to The Bulwark Daily. I'm your host, Tim Miller. Delighted and welcome back to the show. My colleague, a lawyer, Bon Vivant, former candidate for Congress, and host of the brand new podcast, Psycho Politics, which launched this week. It's George Conway. What's up, man?

George Conway (0:27)

I've never been called a Bon Vivant before.

Tim Miller (0:30)

Really?

George Conway (0:30)

Yeah, no.

Tim Miller (0:31)

Well, I think it might be something you came to late in life.

George Conway (0:34)

Don't I have to wear a hat to be a Bon Vivant or something like that?

Tim Miller (0:37)

I don't know. Well, yeah, you might have to update the wardrobe a little bit. But I do think that you are kind of in your, whatever we're in now, sixth decade, kind of becoming a Bon Vivant. Some people are Bon Vivants in their 20s, others in their 60s.

George Conway (0:51)

Seventh decade.

Tim Miller (0:52)

Seventh decade. Well, you're looking like you're in your sixth decade. The main topic of Psycho Politics, as you might expect, is the psychosis, the mass onset psychosis that has taken over the White House and expanded out to our country. You wrote this on the social media site X the other day. I'm just going to say it, I think he will physically make it to January 20, 2029 I strongly doubt he will make it mentally. You also commented that the mentally ill President of the United States gleefully posted a grizzly video of a man being killed by a tiger.

Then the White House account funded by us reposts it.

When will people finally report on his manifest psychiatric disorders? Where do you think we are in the process? You've been on this beat for seven years now, and I watched him give an answer to Ken Bone, the famous Ken Bone question in the 2016 Q&A. It was about energy policy, if people don't remember this. I do have to say Trump's answer sounds like kind of fine, like normal almost compared to now. I mean, he's talking about EPA policy, clean coal, and he was always Trump, but it is pretty notable.

George Conway (2:03)

The decline has been constant, but I do think lately it's accelerating. I think it's a function of a bunch of different things. One is these personality types get worse as they get older. I mean, first of all, there is always a cognitive slippage that occurs with any individual as they age, and his family does have a history of Alzheimer's. I don't think he has quite that. I think his problem is that he's always been this narcissistic sociopath and a psychopath, and his ego is so sensitive, the narcissistic aspect of it. His ego is so sensitive to slights or perceived criticisms or in his own mind, things that he knows he's not that smart. He knows he had to cheat to get ahead deep down. I think what happens is these narcissists create their own reality that becomes more and more detached from the real reality over time. That's what we're seeing here as things get worse and worse, as gas prices go up and as the economy goes down and as he gets more and more criticism, as his poll numbers go down and he's cocooning himself with, he's got Natalie Harp to tell him everything's okay.

There's also the disinhibition.

Tim Miller (3:23)

He's got double the Natalie now. It's like double the Natalie, double the phone.

George Conway (3:29)

Yeah. God, it reminds me of the double mink girl. So you're too young for that. Then there's this disinhibition as he's getting older. He's just saying whatever comes to his mind. His mind was never a steel trap to begin with. It was never organized to begin with in a normal fashion. I'm just looking at these clips that Aysen, the Midas Touch guy, and Aaron Rupar are putting out. I mean, it's getting crazier and crazier. Then posting these, the actual video of a man in Northern England who got mauled, and mentally unwell man who went into a tiger enclosure at a zoo park was mauled. There's video of it. He posts this.

Then he posts an AI video of himself wrestling with a tiger. What is this? I mean, it's sick to begin with. It's like, doesn't the guy have a job? He's making less sense than ever. It's scary.

If you look at the history of people like Trump, Hitler was a psychopath and a delusional one. All these megalomaniacs and throughout history, they become more and more detached from reality, and then they get more desperate over time. This is not good. What I don't understand is, it's not just that he's whacked out, it's also that he's getting worse.
