It's October 10th. You're listening to New York Rangers News Today, AI-powered coverage of your squad. All right, let's dive into some exciting news from The New York Rangers. They've got the youngest roster in the NHL this season, a major switch from the older group that wasn't quite living up to expectations. It's a breath of fresh air, and those young players are really making their mark early on.

One standout is Gabe Perreault. Analysts have been buzzing about him as a breakout candidate, and it looks like he's ready to shine. He was highlighted in a piece by Greg Wyszynski, placed in Tier 3 of players who are finally set to break out. That's a big deal for sure.

Perreault's journey hasn't been straightforward. After some early season struggles, he got sent back to the AHL to play with the Hartford Wolf Pack. But when he returned, he was a different player, racking up 19 points over his final 23 games last season.

That kind of experience is huge, especially as he found chemistry with Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafreniere. Starting the 2026-27 season, that trio has been keeping it going strong. Perreault's currently on a point streak, with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 straight games. Plus, he's already making noise on the power play with 2 assists. It's clear he's found his rhythm, and it'll be exciting to see if he gets even more time on the power play going forward. At just 21 years old, Perreault's just getting started.

His playmaking skills and goal scoring ability are really coming to the forefront, and fans are definitely here for it. The future is looking bright for him and the Rangers.
