Kip Wightman (0:05)

Hey, welcome to the show, Monday the 19th of October. A great show.

Susie O'Neill (0:12)

We can't have a bit of everything here.

SPEAKER_4 (0:14)

Oh, excuse me.

Susie O'Neill (0:15)

The interesting one we wanted to follow up on actually was the what three things do you bring to the table as a person? Yeah. So, you can text us if you want. Can we solicit it to him?

Solicit text in the podcast?

David Lutteral (0:29)

Yeah.

Susie O'Neill (0:30)

457 611 69

Kip Wightman (0:38)

Yeah, what three things do you bring? Like in a relationship, I guess, is that what we're asking? Or just in life?

David Lutteral (0:42)

Yeah.

SPEAKER_6 (0:43)

What do you bring to the table?

Susie O'Neill (0:45)

When you turn up somewhere, what are you bringing?

Kip Wightman (0:46)

Yeah. And don't say favourites, we mean like, you know, I suppose can vibe.

Susie O'Neill (0:51)

Oh, okay, chocolates.

Kip Wightman (0:53)

Can vibes.

David Lutteral (0:54)

I bring, I'm a vibes guy. Good vibes is good. Yeah, good vibes.

Kip Wightman (0:56)

Yeah.

Susie O'Neill (0:57)

Yeah, vibes.

SPEAKER_6 (0:58)

Yeah, you need someone like that.

David Lutteral (1:00)

You need vibes.

SPEAKER_6 (1:00)

Like Alan Langer is incredible. What he brings to the table when he comes to a table.

It's energy, it's fun, games, vibes, humour.

Susie O'Neill (1:10)

He's amazing.

Kip Wightman (1:11)

He is.

Susie O'Neill (1:12)

Will he ever age?

Kip Wightman (1:13)

I don't know.

SPEAKER_6 (1:13)

I don't know.

Kip Wightman (1:14)

And like how he drinks as much as he does at his age is just incredible.

Susie O'Neill (1:18)

He'd be a grandad, wouldn't he? Would he be a great grandad yet? Because he had kids really young.

SPEAKER_6 (1:22)

I don't know if he's a great grandad.

Susie O'Neill (1:24)

He wouldn't be that dissimilar in age to me, I don't reckon. How old is he?

Kip Wightman (1:27)

I wonder how old he is.

SPEAKER_6 (1:28)

No, he's only... No, he wouldn't be a great grandad. Couldn't be. He's definitely a grandad.

Sixty?

Susie O'Neill (1:36)

Oh, yeah, because he had his sixtieth recently, didn't he?

SPEAKER_6 (1:39)

Yeah.

Susie O'Neill (1:39)

Yeah, sixty.

SPEAKER_6 (1:41)

I don't know. Enjoy the show.

I don't think we mentioned last week, and I think anyone's really mentioned, is that the first Powderfinger concert next year will be on a Friday night, the third of September. And there's a gig also on the Saturday night at the RNA, the fourth, which I was thinking is just going to be one of the biggest weekends Brisbane's ever had. That's going to be like a festival, you know. Fourth of September is also Riverfire.

Susie O'Neill (2:15)

Oh, is it?

SPEAKER_6 (2:16)

Oh, no. I mean, I don't know, it's just going to be, that could be the biggest Brisbane weekend in history.

Susie O'Neill (2:23)

The same day? Why do they do it the same day?

SPEAKER_6 (2:26)

Well, I mean, there's plenty of people that don't necessarily go in to see Riverfire. That's really a problem.

Kip Wightman (2:30)

Just for getting in and out of there will be nuts.

SPEAKER_6 (2:32)

Well, at least it's an RNA and not at like, River Stage. I mean, ridiculous, obviously.

Kip Wightman (2:35)

Then you'll hear the fireworks while Powderfinger's playing.

SPEAKER_6 (2:38)

Yeah, I mean, RNA's not that far away, is it? Like, it's, you know, it's still in that sort of pocket.

Kip Wightman (2:42)

Yeah.

SPEAKER_6 (2:43)

Isn't that crazy? So, you got Friday, Powderfinger and then Saturday, Powderfinger and Riverfire.

Susie O'Neill (2:49)

And Sunday, Luttsy's birthday.

SPEAKER_4 (2:52)

Oh, Susie!

SPEAKER_8 (2:54)

Here's your overnight news with Sus.

Susie O'Neill (2:57)

Good morning, Brisbane. I'm Susie O'Neill.

With the top three things you need to know heading into today, Monday the 19th of October. A teenage boy's Sunday afternoon ended with five firefighting crews coming to his rescue after he became stuck in the stormwater drain at Kangaroo Point.

He was down there with his brother when emergency services were called around two o'clock. So the water must have come up. It took crews about half an hour to find him. He was about 20 meters inside the drain and they brought him out on an inflatable boat. Firefighters described the drains beneath Brisbane as a maze and reminded everyone to stay out, especially after the rain.

SPEAKER_6 (3:36)

Note yourself to stay out of the drains.

David Lutteral (3:39)

Don't go into the drains today.

Kip Wightman (3:41)

Damn it.

David Lutteral (3:42)

There's one Monday rule.

Susie O'Neill (3:43)

Brisbane Western Suburbs could get their own version of Howard Smith Wharves. Oh, where?
