Hey, big show for you today, Thursday, the 23rd of July. Jeez, we cover some ground. We get our listeners to call us and join our Scream Club and guess their profession while they scream it out.
**David Luttrell** (0:14)
Yeah, I enjoyed that.
**Nick** (0:16)
Yeah, it was fun.
**David Luttrell** (0:16)
I enjoyed the fact that the Comm Games are starting tomorrow, so we had Rich Awan, who's over in Glasgow. Yeah, the ad game with no name actually went off today, I thought.
**Nick** (0:24)
The kick today, it was probably its best one.
**Susie O'Neill** (0:26)
I think you'll enjoy it. Yeah, it was fun. We announced something that was in the mall today, which was illegal.
We broke protocol. Protocol?
**SPEAKER_6** (0:34)
We broke an embargo.
**Susie O'Neill** (0:38)
I don't know why there was an embargo, because that means no one's coming to watch it.
**Nick** (0:41)
So stupid, isn't it?
**SPEAKER_4** (0:42)
Anyway, I'm not going to say what it is in case it's still embargoed.
**David Luttrell** (0:44)
Yeah, but we're rock stars. What's we do?
**SPEAKER_7** (0:46)
We break rules.
**David Luttrell** (0:47)
Rules are there to be broken.
**Nick** (0:48)
That's what we do. Anyway, enjoy the show. Six years to go until the Olympics.
**Susie O'Neill** (0:58)
Yeah, I hope it's going to be a nice day. Someone asked me yesterday, how come it's in, how come it's now?
Like how come it's not in September? The Sydney Olympics were in September.
**Nick** (1:06)
Yes, what's the answer?
**Susie O'Neill** (1:07)
The answer is that the sport program now is so busy, all the other sports, you know, the international sports. This is the only window that suits all the sports. It has to be July. It has to be this time of year. It can't be late, as late as September as it was.
For the Sydney Olympics, so that's why it's in July. But a beautiful winter's day in Brisbane is excellent. So I'm hoping that it's going to be a beautiful winter's day.
**Nick** (1:31)
It's supposed to be 23 today. The fog's meant to clear. No rain.
**Susie O'Neill** (1:33)
It clears, right?
**Nick** (1:34)
Yeah, it clears.
**Susie O'Neill** (1:36)
They're unveiling a countdown clock, an Omega countdown clock in the mall today.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:41)
Cool.
**Susie O'Neill** (1:41)
If you want to come along, it's at around 10 o'clock.
**Nick** (1:44)
Where is it in the mall?
**SPEAKER_4** (1:44)
From memory.
**David Luttrell** (1:45)
It's like, you know, where Hungry Jacks is, like Albert Street and Queen Street corner of the Queen Street Mall.
**Nick** (1:50)
Oh, yes.
**David Luttrell** (1:51)
I think it's like 10, 15, is when the actual countdown will start. It's a six year clock.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:56)
How good is that?
**David Luttrell** (1:56)
It's pretty cool.
**Susie O'Neill** (1:57)
Yeah. Hope it's not a secret. You know these things you get and they go embargoed. I'm like, well, why is everything embargoed?
**Nick** (2:03)
Don't email it to me if it's embargoed because I'll say it.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:05)
Don't tell me.
**Nick** (2:06)
We have a radio show.
**David Luttrell** (2:07)
We will talk about it.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:08)
Yeah, exactly.
**David Luttrell** (2:09)
No, that's like, surely that's public knowledge.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:12)
Yeah.
**David Luttrell** (2:12)
It's a countdown clock.
**Nick** (2:13)
Are you being the opener of the clock or?
**Susie O'Neill** (2:15)
I don't think so. No. I'm visiting a school though today as well.
Oh, you're a busy day. I'm heading out to East Brisbane State School.
**David Luttrell** (2:21)
Oh yeah? Well, that's the one, I think that's the one near the Gabba.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:24)
Yes, with Andrew Liveris, who's the president of the Brisbane 32 So we're going to go out and visit that school.
**Nick** (2:30)
Cool.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:30)
And visit the kids.
**Nick** (2:31)
And then talk about the games that are coming and what it means, etc.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:34)
And that's a very good question. I think there'll be a bit of that and then a bit of what the kids want to know.
**SPEAKER_11** (2:40)
Just open question time.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:41)
Yeah, I think there's an open question.
**Nick** (2:43)
I play you in Smarter Than Susie every day.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:45)
Hopefully.
**David Luttrell** (2:45)
I have a guinea pig.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:47)
Yeah.
Good point. Yes. Can you see that?
**David Luttrell** (2:50)
Yes.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:51)
And then there's a lunch on as well.
**David Luttrell** (2:53)
I think we're going to two different lunches today.
**Susie O'Neill** (2:55)
60 to go lunches, yeah.
**SPEAKER_8** (2:56)
Right.
**David Luttrell** (2:57)
There's a lot going on today.
**Nick** (2:58)
