Kip Wightman (0:05)
Welcome to the show Friday, the 9th of October.
David Lutteral (0:09)
Yeah, not the big one. There's just been a lot of energy in the shows lately, isn't there?
Kip Wightman (0:14)
But relaxed energy.
David Lutteral (0:15)
Relaxed energy. Yeah.
Kip Wightman (0:16)
I think it's the studio, Sus.
Susie O'Neill (0:18)
I like the studio.
I feel like it's really casual. I'm glad that we're at a better height, because I'm on... We used to be on stools, bar stools. I actually like being a bit lower on it. My feet grounded on the ground.
Kip Wightman (0:28)
Feet grounded is a good one.
Susie O'Neill (0:29)
And I can see you both.
Kip Wightman (0:31)
But I also like how it's just a big space, people can sort of come in. People are coming and going, you know what I mean?
David Lutteral (0:35)
It feels very... Yeah, people just walk in the door.
Ash Bradnam (0:38)
It's the loudest door in the world.
David Lutteral (0:40)
Yeah. All sorts of stuff going on. But somehow, you know, the more we do it, the more I just focusing and not losing the external noise.
Susie O'Neill (0:50)
Yes, and I used to be horrible at that. I know. I used to be so bad if someone came in the studio.
Ash Bradnam (0:54)
Yeah, I am as well.
Susie O'Neill (0:56)
I would freak out for some reason. But now, no, it doesn't worry me. It's like he's just walking around. He's crying now.
Ash Bradnam (1:02)
Oh, there's someone coming in the door right now.
Kip Wightman (1:05)
Oh no, that one's throwing it.
David Lutteral (1:08)
I love how not only do we have to do it, then we go, oh, I see you. And then it's like, oh, I'm so sorry.
It's like a Broadway production. Enter stage, right?
Kip Wightman (1:17)
It's our podcast. Anyway, it's this kind of show, so enjoy it.

Here's your Overnight News with Suse.
Susie O'Neill (1:30)
Good morning, Brisbane. I'm Susie O'Neill with the top three things you need to know heading into Friday, the 9th of October. The PNG Chiefs haven't played an NRL game yet, but they're already in a fight over their name.
New Zealand rugby has launched court action to stop them using Chiefs. In New Zealand, saying it needs to protect its existing super rugby team, the Chiefs.
David Lutteral (1:51)
I'm not sure you can do that.
Susie O'Neill (1:52)
It's a rugby union, isn't it? Yes. Okay.
David Lutteral (1:55)
Different country.
Susie O'Neill (1:56)
Different code.
David Lutteral (1:56)
Different code, different country.
Kip Wightman (1:58)
You're like the Kansas City Chiefs saying, you can't do that.
Susie O'Neill (2:01)
Exactly.
Kip Wightman (2:01)
It's stupid.
David Lutteral (2:03)
It's as relevant as that.
Kip Wightman (2:05)
Yeah.
Susie O'Neill (2:06)
Well, Volandes agrees with you. He's called it mind-blowing hypocrisy, pointing out the Auckland Blues used that name long after the New South Wales Blues as well.
Ash Bradnam (2:15)
People copy sport names.
David Lutteral (2:19)
By the way, when you say good morning, Brisbane, I wouldn't mind if you paused to give people the opportunity to go, good morning, Susan, in their cars.
Kip Wightman (2:29)
Okay.
Susie O'Neill (2:30)
So like, good morning, Brisbane. I'm Susie O'Neill.
Ash Bradnam (2:34)
Yes.
Susie O'Neill (2:35)
Okay. Thank you.
Kip Wightman (2:36)
Not long enough that it sounds like you're having a moment.
Susie O'Neill (2:38)
I'm in a stroke.
Just keep going. I wouldn't be at my age.
Ash Bradnam (2:43)
I know.
Susie O'Neill (2:43)
Okay. Powder Finger have added more fuel to those reunion rumours. Go on. Wiping their old Instagram posts and sharing a cryptic new video.
Ash Bradnam (2:53)
Yes.
Susie O'Neill (2:53)
Pointing back to their final Brisbane show in 2010
David Lutteral (2:56)
Right. Yeah.
Susie O'Neill (2:57)
They've also launched an official fan club promising early access to tickets. There's still no confirmed dates or venues, but there's a lot of effort if they're just getting together for a barbecue.
Ash Bradnam (3:07)
Not your words, I'm feeling.
David Lutteral (3:10)
Is that a one line? Not your words. No, I did want to, because I couldn't be bothered yesterday because it said, you know, their latest on the powder finger website, Instagram site, whatever.
It said go to the bio, went to the bio, and then it said join the fan club. I couldn't be bothered at that point. But I wanted to know what happened if you went to the fan club. So obviously when I went to the fan club, you got the offer potentially of tickets of some description for an event that doesn't exist yet.
