Hey there, pineapple people, and welcome to The Swing Nation Podcast. We are your host, Northern Guy and Southern Girl. And we are back with another full length episode. And this is a follow up to an episode we did almost almost a year ago.

Yeah, we were trying to figure it out before we started.

And probably one of the most responses that we've ever got, which is funny because I was very much against it. I guess that you were terrified.

Lacy (1:15)

I was terrified. Yeah, it's not nothing personal to them. I just so I'll go go ahead and introduce them and then I'll explain to you.

Coming back to the podcast for a second time, we have Cade. And this time he brought his beautiful wife, Jenna. And if you don't remember him, because I don't think we were on video last time, or if you didn't see the first episode, this was the episode we did with the former pastor. So Cade is a former pastor and he's back for round two on the SwingNation Podcast.

I want to go ahead and say that Lacy is right. She was against this, very against it. And I could tell during the recording and it's okay. It's okay. Because as a former pastor, I was trained to forgive and I moved on pretty quick.

Lacy (2:06)

Well, okay. So but here's the thing in the lifestyle, what are the two things we say we don't talk about politics and religion? And so I just didn't want to piss people off, even though I found the conversation lovely and I genuinely enjoy the things that y'all said. If you listen, I didn't say a whole lot just because I was just a little bit scared of their reaction. But I will say that like people's reaction to the podcast, like even now, we still get people all the time. They're like, oh, the pastor, the pastor. I mean, like, I mean, heck, they even used our quote that we do said about you on the wifey screen. You know, like, so it's like it's really resonated with people. And so I stand corrected. I'm here to say that I think it's OK to talk about this stuff and I'm learning. And there's probably some childhood trauma growing up, you know, like Southern Baptist.

I'm sure. Oh, for sure.

Lacy (2:57)

Yeah, there's some trauma in there. So we're working through it. This is we didn't always say this is like our free therapy. So we're working through it.

Cade (3:05)

This is free. We're not.

Jenna (3:07)

Yeah, you're not getting paid. You're not getting paid.

Dan (3:10)

I am. You're not.

Cade (3:11)

So you're saying we don't talk about politics and religion. I every couple we meet, I've been causing problems because I'm like, hey, who do you who do you vote for and where do you go to church? And that's basically that's probably why.

Jenna (3:22)

Yeah, that's right.

Dan (3:23)

Alone a lot.

Jenna (3:24)

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Cade (3:25)

We've been alone.

Jenna (3:26)

We've been begging people in the corner.

Dan (3:29)

If you're joking or not, do you really have those conversations? No, but seriously, I can see you talking about religion often.

Jenna (3:36)

Yeah, yeah, I would say that comes up naturally.

Lacy (3:40)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And honestly, I think it does come up naturally in a lot of situations. We've actually talked about religion with like close friends and the lifestyle. But I think as a general rule of thumb, like if you're just like going to hook up with somebody, maybe don't bring it up. But yeah, I think like as you get to know people and develop friendships and stuff, I can definitely see where the conversation can go to that.
