Okay, our friends, so today we are reading a story called Fourth of July Fun.

And we are doing it because today is... Fourth of July.

Independence Day is here. Time to celebrate a star-spangled birthday.

Let's decorate.

**Lisa Bueno** (1:10)
Banners and flags fly in red, white and blue. America, the great. There's so much to do. We always have a busy day, don't we? Yeah. And in the picture, we can see they are decorating their house with red, white and blue banners and bunting and the flags and all sorts of stuff.
We all bake together. We measure and mix. The pie smells so yummy as the timer ticks. On the Fourth of July, people in America, like to have either blueberry or apple or cherry pie or maybe all of the above. We love pie on the Fourth of July.
Then we clean the grill and we count every bun. I hope there's enough to feed everyone, says the kids. They are getting ready to have hot dogs or hamburgers.
Usually, on the Fourth of July, people grill. It's just the thing that's done. Nice.

Yeah.

**Lisa Bueno** (2:15)
Yeah.
Games are set up all through the yard. We practice our aim. Whoops, I threw it too hard.

**Philip** (2:24)
Says the little boy.

They're playing a game called Cornhole or Beanbag Toss. It's a board that has a hole in it and you throw the beanbag right into it.
Yeah, it's, I think it's a lot of fun. And it usually, there's croquet and badminton. There's several games they have on their, in their lawn. Sometimes, some places will have like a trampoline or a slip and slide. Cool.
Yeah, there's all kinds of stuff you can do on the 4th of July.
Rat-a-tat-tat, a marching band nears. We all line the street and everyone cheers because they, that's another big thing that you do in the United States On the 4th of July is a parade. Yeah, in the picture, we can see all kinds of really cool looking stuff. There is fire trucks, police cars, motorcycles, rawr and we even have like local celebrities that go by. Do you know? Yeah.
Clip, clop, go the horses. Look, here comes more. In the picture, we can see they're holding up the American flag, and they're riding their horses through the town. And sometimes, yeah, they'll do that. They'll have people who ride horses. Sometimes they'll have people who are playing in a marching band, or they are holding balloons, or yeah, local celebrities, all kinds of stuff.
The parade is over. Now I can't wait to eat with family and neighbors, new friends to meet. That is another tradition, is that people in the neighborhood will throw big block parties and have everybody come over. Or you can have friends that you work with, or you can have family over, lots of families. And another really big tradition in American parties is that we like to have all of our family come. And in the picture, we can see they've got all the different kinds of food out, watermelon and strawberries and pies and cupcakes. And the kids are playing in the sprinkler, which is another fun things that kids do.
Everyone's happy. We take turns and play. The 4th of July, such a fun holiday. And it's, it's true. The kids are all playing cornhole and they're playing badminton and they're playing with the croquet set and in the sprinkler. This is the way. It's the American way.
We all sing together by the fire's warm glow. That's another thing that we like to do, right? Is on the 4th of July, we make s'mores by the fire pit. And we have the s'more, which is the graham cracker cookie. And then you put a marshmallow that's been roasted with a piece of chocolate that's been kind of melted a little bit. And then you can just chomp, chomp, chomp, chomp, chomp. And for some reason, graham crackers and chocolate and marshmallow.
