Stephanie White didn't give a pre-game press conference. She gave a two-minute pity party with an F-bomb soundtrack, and ESPN's siren desk treated like Joan of Arc found her voice.
I'm going to walk you through the tape, the timeline, the enablers. By the end, you'll understand why Indiana fever coach melted down into profanity, and why the fever president locked arms with the meltdown, why the franchise pushed the rant like it was a hype video, and why Malika Andrews, Andrea Carter, and Cheney Agumake couldn't find a single syllable of criticism for conduct that would at the very least get a male coach reprimanded, corrected, mocked, and possibly suspended.

There's that fire.

Let's start with the words Stephanie White actually said, not the sanitized, impassioned plea package WNBA Countdown ran while the sisterhood nodded along.
From the fever's own fee, Stephanie White opens by attacking an online community that's trying to create narratives that simply don't exist. About a minute and 20 in, she drops an F-bomb for no tactical reason whatsoever. Later, she throws in ass. This isn't a coach managing a whistle. This is a grown professional losing the room and reaching for curse words like a life raft. She claims she didn't see DiJonai Carrington's file on Sophie Cunningham in real time Saturday. She went straight to the podium, thought the call was right, then after over and over and over on replay, admits it was egregious. She wears, she swears, she rides with her players 10 toes down. She stacks the sermon, I will always lead with love, grace, humility, integrity. Then she turns to Michelle Obama cosplay, when they go low, we go high. Love will win, grace will win, humility will win, kindness will win.
Then the mask drops.

Everybody else can go to hell.
**Jason Whitlock** (2:45)
There we go. There we go, Steph. Everybody else can go to hell. And she storms off without taking a question. Love on the front end, damnation on the back end. Same mouth, same two minutes. If that's grace, the word has been murdered in cold blood on a WNBA podium. 140 seconds of Stephanie White profanely nailing herself to the cross. In her version, she's the real victim. This was Stephanie White putting on a football uniform and going into the two minute offense to save her reputation. She never crossed the 50 yard line. She threw an interception the moment she started cussing and pounding the table.
The lady doth protest too much. It's what a certain kind of woman does when you catch her red handed. She starts whining and crying and trying to convince you she's the real victim.
You know, I started sleeping with your best friend because you forgot my birthday three years ago. That tore me up so bad, I started banging Tyrone to get over my insecurity the way you made me feel three years ago.
Fellas, stop me when I start lying.
Okay, I've interpreted Stephanie White's pregame press conference yesterday, but let's don't stick with the interpretation. I want you to interpret it. I want you to listen to Stephanie White hang herself with her own words.
**Stephanie White** (4:22)
No, I'm going to start today. This isn't necessarily for those people that are in this room. This is more for an online community that's trying to create narratives, that simply don't exist. Trying to create a fabrication or distortion of who I am, of what I'm about. Our player success, our player's health and wellness, our player safety is always a top priority for me. One of the things I pride myself on is my relationships with players. For those who have anything to say about the play in the last game, I didn't see the play in real time. I went straight to a press conference. I thought the play got called right. Thankfully, Sophie is okay. Was it egregious? Absolutely. When you have a chance to watch that over and over and over on replay, you can see that. I didn't have that in real time.
Were there any sp- I take personally any suggestions that I don't 100 percent always have my players back. I ride with them 10 toes down all the time. All the time. They know that. It's a shame that we can't have an opportunity to talk about what great basketball they're playing. Because they are f-ing playing.
The reality is with me, I will always lead with love. I will always lead with grace. I will always lead with humility. I will always lead with integrity. Doesn't mean I'll always get it right. I'm also human. The hate, the fear-mongering, the divisiveness, the stuff that's trying to hijack our league will not win.
