It seems like you've been playing forever. 37, I think.

**Kip Wightman** (0:40)
37, which is an incredible feat. But I heard that you've had problems with your back and things like that, and certain specialists have sort of given you a new lease on life with your career, which is amazing. Is it the needle guy you work with? Is that the one I've been hearing about?

**Dayne Zorko** (0:56)
Yeah, he's quite on there, mate. He's the magician waving around the needle, so it's all dry, dry needling stuff. But it's been a revelation for my body. And really, the other boys see him now.

**David Lutteral** (1:07)
And see what's happening here is Luttsy's putting that out because he's got back issues. He's having the needle guy.

Does he do non-athletes?

Yeah, my next question. He's having, he gets resurrected.

**Dayne Zorko** (1:18)
Yeah, he does do non-athletes. He's headed more down the athlete path over the last few years since working with me and but he still does see the mainstream. Luttsy, so you're a sniff. Okay, right.

**Kip Wightman** (1:28)
That referral will be nice. Okay, let's get back to footy though. So rock and roll, mate. Here we are again.

**Dayne Zorko** (1:35)
Yeah, incredible year. I mean, halfway through the season, we're sort of looking like we're just going to scrape into the wildcard weekend. But some incredible form over the last, you know, eight or so weeks and put ourselves in a really strong position to have another crack at it. So we're obviously finished third.
We get Sydney next weekend down there. We get a double chance as well, which is always nice. But exciting this weekend, the wildcard, just worked out so fortuitously for the AFL. Four big Melbourne clubs, two sold out games of the MCG, going to be absolutely epic. We've got the finals around and going to be enjoying it, putting the feet up and watching it all unfold.

The lines are flying, aren't they? You've always got so much intense sort of scrutiny on you. How much do you put down to Chris Fagg and your coach, who's also another old coach, you know, for bringing guys together?

**Dayne Zorko** (2:24)
Yeah, not a lot. I love that.

**David Lutteral** (2:30)
It's the boys we've got around us.

**Ash Bradnam** (2:32)
He has run out in the field, doesn't he?

**David Lutteral** (2:33)
Yeah, he's not doing it.

**Dayne Zorko** (2:35)
He's a great guy, don't get me wrong.
That's all I can say. Yeah, he's been phenomenal, obviously. He's taken over the club 11 odd years ago. He's been, and I've worked so closely with him for the majority of those years, obviously being underneath him as the captain. But yeah, he's just got a really incredible ability to continue to bring the group together and just dealing facts and show us what's working, what's not, and be really clear about the picture that we're chasing. And even when we've had some disappointing losses this year, he sort of backed us in to resurrect that and fix it up. You know, we've repaid the faith in space. And not only this year, but over the last few years as well. So yeah, look, he's an incredible guy. He's a real glue man for us.
And I'm just so proud that he never actually played AFL, and it was always something that sort of just, he never was quite sure whether he belonged, but I mean, he's going to go down as one of the great coaches, not only in the Brisbane Lions, but in AFL history.

It's incredible that, like, I'm interviewing Lee Matthews today at a great prostate lunch at the Pineapple, the great Pineapple Zorks, but when history will say that, like, the Lee Matthews legacy, what's almost, their stats are almost identical at the moment as coaches. Like, that's actually, because, you know, the newer of the two sort of sits low on the radar, and we don't really hear much of him, whereas Lee was obviously the player of the century, and yada, yada, yada, but they stand up next to each other as coaches of the lines now.
