Well, that is great because that gave us a chance to answer some questions. Because on today's show, we're going to be answering questions about whether blue tansy oil can help with acne, what we think of the Skinbetter Science line of products, whether facial masks really give any extra benefits, whether collagen supplements can boost your collagen production, whether the temperature of water can affect hair damage, and we'll talk about brands that, brands that, haircare brands that can be coconut oil-free.

But first, how about some of our famous or infamous idle chit-chat? Valerie, how are you doing today? You're getting ready for your big trip?

Valerie George (1:23)

I am. I am headed to Barcelona, or I think they say Bartholoma, I'm not sure, for in cosmetics. First, I'll be making a pit stop in Germany. We actually couldn't get a direct flight to Spain from LA, so we actually found it cheaper even to fly direct to Germany.

Then we're going to take a little puddle hopper, even though we're not going over any water, we'll take a little tiny plane to Barcelona. And that whole thing ended up being cheaper than a two-stop ticket.

Perry Romanowski (1:55)

Wow. Well, and you get the little fun adventure in Germany.

Valerie George (1:59)

Yeah, I get to see the family.

Perry Romanowski (2:01)

Capital Berlin? Yeah.

Valerie George (2:04)

Well, actually get to see, it's my mom's family, but I'm pretty excited to be able to see them. And I always appreciate learning about my family history a little bit more.

Perry Romanowski (2:13)

Yeah. Well, that's cool. Have fun at Barcelona and on the entire trip. Always, we'll be eager to hear about all the great new ingredients that are coming out in the cosmetic industry.

Valerie George (2:25)

Yeah. That's actually a great point. Some of you guys may be wondering why I'm even going.

Anywhere Barcelona is hosting a trade show called In Cosmetics Global this year. And it maybe you've heard us talk about it before. It's the premiere ingredient trade show where all of the raw material suppliers launch their latest and greatest ingredients and technology that they've been working on.

Perry Romanowski (2:50)

Do you think there's going to be anything really new?

Valerie George (2:52)

I think there's going to be a couple new things. I've been previewed with suppliers, teased, if you will.

And I am excited to check them out.

Perry Romanowski (3:03)

I think there's going to be, I predict there will be hundreds of new ingredients which might not seem new to a crusty old veteran like myself.

Valerie George (3:12)

Yeah, yeah. Well, there's some new biotech stuff. There's some new studies on old ingredients, which I really enjoy.

And of course, my favorite part for me is getting to network with all my global hair color colleagues that I've known over the years.

Perry Romanowski (3:27)

That's right. You keep up your creds as one of the country's foremost hair color experts. And we'll be talking about hair color a little later in the show. Yeah.

Hey, you know, just before we get on to the beauty news, there's been some drama with the Porch Kitties.

Valerie George (3:44)

What is happening? Is it puffers again?

Perry Romanowski (3:46)

It is puffers. Well, I went away for a vacation for a couple of weeks and then I came back. And you know who wasn't here anymore?

Tuxedo.

Valerie George (3:55)

No.

Perry Romanowski (3:58)

I don't know. She kind of hit the road, I guess. And she didn't really get along with puffers. And now puffers is this new black puffy cat that came by and sort of has disrupted the social harmony of all the other cats.

Valerie George (4:12)

Get puffers out of here. Get him out of here.

Perry Romanowski (4:17)

But I feel bad about Puff because, you know, he's he's and he's very, you know, he's puffy.

But he he meows a lot and he doesn't run away when I walk up to him, you know, he always looks like he's got on the edge of going to hiss and scratch me. But he doesn't. He's he's probably friendly. So this is my plan. OK, I'm going to catch him and I'm going to get him fixed. And I figured that'll probably help. Right. Because he's a boy cat, I think.
