Hammer and Nigel.
SPEAKER_2 (0:01)
You believe these characters?
SPEAKER_3 (0:02)
They're weirdos.
SPEAKER_4 (0:03)
So let's rock it!
Nigel (0:05)
Well, so Hammer, they're gonna demo the bridge at Hazel Dell Parkway in 106
Hammer (0:12)
Yes.
Nigel (0:12)
After all that flooding, file that under, you know, things I could have never seen coming.
Hammer (0:20)
I hope it's an explosion and not an implosion. Anybody can do an implosion, where things fold within themselves and then you clean it up. I want an explosion where rock and brick and hell's breaking loose and it's firing off everywhere.
Nigel (0:38)
You want people to have to take cover.
Hammer (0:41)
Yes, that's exactly what I want. No more implosions. This country needs more explosions.
Nigel (0:47)
The feeling if that happens, which I'm not totally convinced it will, they will make preparations, proper preparations to have civilians far, far away. But that's good to see that the Hazel Dell Parkway and 106th Street Street Bridge is going to finally, you know, we finally know what's going on there.
Hammer (1:08)
And this is as a result of that catastrophic flooding that we had a couple of months back. And people have almost forgotten about it, Nigel, but the real reality is there's still a lot of people who have not received any sort of money yet.
I know the governor is doing the rounds, trying to make sure those funds get to where they need to go from a federal level and a state level. But just because the water recedes doesn't mean the story ends. I mean, there's still a lot of people that are trying to get their lives back together as a result of really what was like two or three straight days of rain.
Nigel (1:51)
Yeah, and this is just one aspect. This is just one incident. One piece of the puzzle here is this is this bridge. I mean, we could spend an entire hour on all the damage that has happened as a result of the flooding.
Hammer (2:09)
Right.
Yeah, it's bad.
It's been bad, and there's a long recovery road ahead. Same thing when these hurricanes go through, right? Like Hawaii's dealing with the outer bands of a strong hurricane now. But in the past, it's been Florida, it's been Texas. Just because the storm moves out doesn't mean a massive wake of destruction is ready to just, you know, snap your fingers and be fixed. That doesn't work that way. So Monday, September 28th, that's the date that the demolition will officially get underway on that bridge. And it must be completed by the 30th. And again, October 30th explosion. Don't give me this implosion crap. Could you imagine like when they brought down MSA instead of an implosion where it all fell inside of itself?
Nigel (3:06)
Right.
Hammer (3:06)
It was an explosion and debris was flying all throughout the city. In the air and people were running for their lives.
Nigel (3:14)
And I don't want to imagine that like a cloud of dust engulfs the city. No, I don't want to imagine that.
Hammer (3:21)
There was a classic Simpsons episode where they were imploding the old Monte Burns Casino. And there was a countdown three, two, one. And you hear Homer go, I can't wait for the implosion and the poor construction worker implosion. I thought you said X and then boom.
People are running in fear. Terror is breaking loose in Springfield. The Monte Burns Casino has exploded all throughout Springfield.
Nigel (3:51)
I can't see them exploding the existing remnants of the the bridge there at Hazelville Parkway at all.
Hammer (4:00)
Meanwhile, here in Marion County, in Indy, another just easy, redamdiculous plea deal from your soft on crime prosecutor, Ryan Mears.
Nigel (4:13)
No, you don't say.
Hammer (4:14)
I know, right? He gave a plea deal to a guy who raped a 14-year-old boy last summer at a park. The rapist also has HIV. So you think about what's going on here. HIV infected rapist that sexually assaults a young 14-year-old boy.
Plea deal down to nine years.
Nigel (4:42)
Yeah. Well, you know, there's a there's a cure for that. I've got a 14-year-old boy and get the bail money ready for Pops.
Hammer (4:54)
Understood.
Nigel (4:55)
You wouldn't have to have a plea deal for this guy.
I'm just saying that's all. Actually, I'd better be careful. That's all I'm going to say.
Hammer (5:04)
Nigel, I feel confident that between myself and the WIBC listeners, the best YouTube chat and all of media, we would have your bail ready if you decided to act justice upon that. Like, I feel confident on that.
