Hammer and Nigel.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:01)
You believe these characters?

**Nigel** (0:02)
They're weird of us.

**Jerry Lopez** (0:03)
So let's rock!

**Nigel** (0:06)
Hammer, what do Westfield and Steve Guttenberg have in common? There's a connection here. Westfield and Steve Guttenberg, they're both known for Citizens on Patrol.

**SPEAKER_4** (0:20)
Come on, baby!

**Nigel** (0:21)
The Westfield Police Department has launched its own version of the police academy movie Citizens on Patrol program, apparently.

**Hammer** (0:28)
Is Bobcat Goldway part of the Westfield Citizens on Patrol?

**Nigel** (0:34)
Where's Tackleberry and Hooks?

**Hammer** (0:36)
Right!

**Jerry Lopez** (0:37)
Proctor!

**Hammer** (0:41)
The Westfield Police Department's new program enlisting trained volunteers to enhance public safety by patrolling parks and events.

**Nigel** (0:52)
OK, so they're not going to be wearing police uniforms like a police academy for, right? Is it kind of like, maybe, I don't know, like the yellow shirts out of the track security out at concerts and stuff like that?

**Hammer** (1:05)
Are they going to be packing heat? Like, is Tackleberry going to get out his gun? That's like way too, like big, like a cartoonish like gun and pointed at somebody at a park?
Because I'm kind of here for it. Like, we're laughing. We're having a good time with this. But who do you think is going to have a bigger impact on their community? The citizens on patrol in Westfield, or these violence interrupters that we're spending a crap ton of money on here in the circle? And I think more people have seen Bigfoot than any of these people walking around.

**Nigel** (1:38)
Who's going to have more of an impact? It depends on who sweet Chuck decides to join. It depends on which force, the violence interrupters or the citizens on patrol.

**Hammer** (1:49)
Gen X, any of these police academy references moving the needle for you guys?

**Nigel** (1:52)
I love it. I love all of them.

**Hammer** (1:54)
I'm here for it. If they're well trained. And listen, it might not be sweet Chuck. It might not be Hooks. What if this is like a retired military guy or some badass that's like, you know what? I'm tired of hearing all the crap. I don't want Westfield to turn into Indianapolis, so I'm going to volunteer to help my community. I'm here for that.
Now, if you've got some violent repeat offender, I'm sure he's probably not eligible for the program. No, there's going to be some lunatics. I'm sure that are turned away.
But I'm not mad at this because I'm willing to bet you dollars to doughnuts. The Westfield Citizens on Patrol program is going to be more successful than the taxpayer funded ridiculous violence interrupters that narrator don't interrupt any violence.

**Nigel** (2:43)
I tell you what, like you want to you want to interrupt violence, then you get Michael Winslow, who played Jones in Police Academy with a bullhorn and a speaker and go, with the bullet noises. That'll interrupt everybody and make you scatter.

**Hammer** (3:01)
That'll clear that park or event in Westfield pretty darn quick.
I love it. All right, let's play a round of should there be jail time? Oh, should there be jail time?

**Nigel** (3:15)
This could be like a new sponsored segment on the show.

**Hammer** (3:19)
Dateline, Beach Grove, Indiana. Mild stomping grounds.

**Nigel** (3:24)
Unofficial mayor of Beach Grove. I'm sharing a studio with him right now.

**Hammer** (3:28)
A judge says there will not be any prison time for the Beach Grove man who shot and killed a woman's pet cat.
In self-defense, the guy was on a walk with his son and claims that this woman's cat, just a regular domestic cat, named Oreo. We've got a cat named Oreo. Like attacked him and scratched him. So he pulled out a pellet gun and shot it dead.

**Nigel** (3:59)
Oh, a pellet gun. I guess I don't know if it makes a difference if it's a real gun or a pellet gun.

**Hammer** (4:04)
Jonathan Moser found guilty of cruelty to an animal, which is a Class A misdemeanor, following his bench trial that just wrapped up. He was not convicted of the higher charge, which would have been a Level 6 felony for killing a domestic animal.

**Nigel** (4:22)
Level 6 Wow.

**Hammer** (4:25)
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office confirmed that this Moser guy received a 360-day sentence with 354 days suspended and three days of credit for time already served. As part of his sentencing, Moser has to do community service at an animal care shelter.
So no jail time for the guy that shot the domestic cat in self-defense.

**Nigel** (4:52)
Domestic cat. But he was claiming the cat was attacking them.
