**SPEAKER_2** (0:01)
Do you believe these characters?

**Nigel** (0:02)
They're weird of us.

**Guy Relford** (0:04)
Ha ha ha ha, yeah!

**Nigel** (0:07)
My name is Nigel, Jason Hammer is out, Brian Alvey, military veteran, host of the podcast, Those Ash Holes, filling in again, maybe just a little background on who you are, where you're from, your military stuff, and all that good stuff.

**Brian Alvey** (0:29)
Well, you know, I spent a little over 20 years in the army and then I serial entrepreneur, man, been a consultant for a long time in business, worked in various different industries, being a consultant, opened opportunities to do that. I've owned a few bars and restaurants over the years, done a few different things.

**Nigel** (0:48)
Do you consult somebody that wants to open a bar? Like, could I hire you for your services? What's the number one mistake people make in opening a bar?

**Brian Alvey** (0:56)
Like, deciding to do so. You know, you are a you are a professional herder of feral cats. You don't it's so many people like it's always been their dream to own a bar. They watch Sam Malone on Cheers, whatever they think this is. And I and I explain I explain to people that.
This this isn't your backyard and playground. You this is a job and it's it's it's it'll overtake your entire life. It is a it's a career decision to own and run one of those places.

**Nigel** (1:31)
And let you know. But you've done it multiple times.

**Brian Alvey** (1:33)
And I've sold them multiple times. No, yeah, absolutely. Well, and I will say this. Every single bar or restaurant that I've owned, for the most part, I've had a business partner.
You know, I could spell trouble. Well, no. Yeah, you're right. It absolutely could spell trouble. But there's pluses and minuses to everything. Nothing's all inclusively good or bad. And the good thing about having a business partner is the fact that if I want to check out for 10 days on a vacay, I've got somebody with some skin in the game in there.

**Nigel** (2:05)
That's the key.

**Brian Alvey** (2:06)
That's the key.

**Nigel** (2:07)
That's what I see happening with Tom. My book, my boys from Coach's Tavern, Tom Sutton and Adam.

**Brian Alvey** (2:12)
Tom is an awesome dude.

**Nigel** (2:14)
Yeah.

**Brian Alvey** (2:14)
Yeah. But he has to eat, sleep and breathe that business, which I think he does. I think he does a phenomenal job down there.

**Nigel** (2:20)
However, it's stood the test of time.

**Brian Alvey** (2:23)
They have they really have. I mean, he's everything around there has changed over twice since he started that place. He's still there and he's doing unbelievably well.

**Nigel** (2:32)
You talked about pluses and minuses of certain things. There are certainly some pluses and minuses for Donald Trump signing a 14 point Iran deal to end that war.
The I've never heard the words Alvey. Well, I have a memorandum of understanding more than I have in the past week or at least the past few days. They have come up with a permanent agreement. They have to come up with a permanent agreement within 60 days. So this Memorandum of Understanding is just kind of like an...
It's not a treaty, it's not some sort of binding thing, and it deals in ceasefires, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief for Iran, which I'm not necessarily down with. Just a big picture before we move on. What do you think about what...

**Brian Alvey** (3:31)
Well, the MOA thing, I think they're repeating it at Nausium at this point because they're trying to send a message, because MOA is just, hey, we have a...

**Nigel** (3:40)
MOU.

**Brian Alvey** (3:41)
MOU, whatever.
I mean, it's not official about it. It's not a written signed treaty. You know, it's how I was choked at the Korea. The Korea war is still going on because they never signed a treaty that the wars over this side is a peace treaty. So there's nothing official. They're working through it. That's essentially what it gives them an out. It gives them an out.

**Nigel** (4:09)
And I don't like the fact that there's money being given to Iran, even though it's their own money. JD. Vance came out today and said that we're going to be able to keep track of the money where it's going, that including possibly to proxies for Iran, which is that's all they're known for. So we'll see what this does. I want to move on. I want to pivot to the US Supreme Court. They just unanimously ruled in favor of a Texas man who had his gun rights stripped because he was using marijuana. And this is a topic we've been talking about with Guy Relford, the gun guy, two way attorney, licensed firearms instructor for, I feel like a couple of months now. Is he on the hotline here, Allison?
