Filling in today, military veteran, American badass, host of the Ash Poles podcast, my man Brian Alvey. Brian, just before we get to our next guest, a little context, who you are, where you've been, and I mean, you've been a friend of the show for years.

Yeah, well, serial guest. This is my first time guest hosting with you, which was super awesome. I appreciate the honor and the privilege. You know, a little over 20 years in the military, serial entrepreneur, I've done a lot of different things.
Been a business consultant for several years, which has opened up so many opportunities for me to get into the different types of business industries that I've been in, own a private investigations firm, a bourbon line, just like I said, serial entrepreneur, you know, my ADD kicks in, I'm like, oh, let's do that. So I chase shiny objects for a living. So and then apparently part time radio hack now.

I'm doing good. 19 Delta. Let's go. All right. I got to know what Brian's MOS was.

**Brian Alvey** (1:21)
Had a few of them, infantry, communications, medical. You know, obviously, the heart and soul of my MOS were 11 bang bang.

MOS, what's that?

Oh, I knew that.

Hey, Jim, we have some weather coming in, don't we? Can you give us a preview of what's to come here in the next few hours? And then, as I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong, there's a break, and then there's more weather behind what's coming now.

**Jim O'Brien** (1:50)
Yeah, actually, what's happening right now is honestly helping us out tremendously. We've got a big cloud shield. Yes, it is. We've got a huge cloud shield. We've got rain that is falling. So that is stabilizing things for a little while. Now, we're not quite out of the woods just yet, but if this rain can hang around long enough for today, that will suppress severe weather chances, at least bring them down a little bit heading into the evening. Now again, I'm not going to rule out that we're completely clear this thing at all. We've had the rain come through. We're watching what's happening out towards the west, out towards Illinois. There's a ton of dynamics at work right now out towards the west. I mean, we're talking temperature surging out towards Illinois, high dew points, area of low pressure, cold front, all this kind of working together.
SPC, the Storm Prediction Center is already looking out towards areas like Missouri and Illinois. What develops there will eventually make its way towards Indiana later on tonight. We're still looking at that second round between about 8 o'clock at 2 a.m. So there's going to be a long window here of watching those storms out in Illinois and exactly how they're going to track towards Indiana, central Indiana, maybe actually shifting a little bit farther off towards the south and southwest, meaning Indy down towards Evansville could be in that mix as well. So that shift from the Storm Prediction Center with that moderate risk earlier today did drop a little bit to the south bottom line again, it's active out towards the west is going to get worse out towards Illinois and everything's going to feed towards Indiana. We get later into the night and things start to cool off. These storms are going to be suppressed a little bit, but we're still in that likelihood of when goes up to maybe 70, 80 miles an hour large hail isolated tornadoes. I don't rule any of that out just yet. We'll have to continue to monitor it throughout the afternoon and evening.

But in terms of the afternoon, I think it is what it is, what I'm looking at the window right now?

**Jim O'Brien** (3:46)
At least for the next several hours. Yeah, this isn't going anywhere. I think the morning, I shouldn't say morning rush hour, the evening rush hour, I'm the morning guy. Evening rush hour, I think right now should be moderate rain to steady rain, maybe a few wind gusts, and then that's it. So if we get into a break late this afternoon, we get back to sunshine and help destabilize things, and these storms are blowing up out towards Illinois, then yes, I think this is all going to feed into the area, and that second round could be the worst of the two, obviously. But if we keep these clouds around on through the evening rush hour, we don't break, we don't get any sunshine, then by the time these storms get here, they may actually start to weaken as they get closer to Central Indiana, which would be the best case scenario.
