**Ari Paparo** (1:26)
Welcome to the Marketecture Podcast. This is Ari Paparo. I'm recording live from Paris, which is not exactly Cannes. I have a little stop over here while I'm heading to Cannes. If you're listening to this, you are probably over the Atlantic, two drinks in. I'll see the Economy Plus, the AdTech Tuxedo folded neatly above you, and wondering when in your career you'll be able to afford business class because you're coming to Cannes.
Is that a good description, Eric?

**Eric** (1:57)
Those business class seats are like 20 grand or something. I cannot believe the price. Oh my God. It's insane how expensive it is.

**Ari Paparo** (2:08)
It's so tempting. Every time you're like, well, maybe if I hit the point in my career where it's worth it for me to go to good night's sleep, maybe I could talk to HR.
Just out of reach. Just out of reach. You never get there.

**Eric** (2:23)
Not me.
I'm in the back. I'm in the back near the can.

**Ari Paparo** (2:29)
What's your travel tip? What do you do?

**Eric** (2:32)
Oh my goodness. What do I do for this one?
Get to the airport plenty early, international.
I don't check bags.

**Ari Paparo** (2:43)
No.

**Eric** (2:44)
Yeah. I'm a carry-on only.
Then just, yeah, I don't take anything.

**Ari Paparo** (2:52)
I don't do anything.

**Eric** (2:53)
I just go through it.

**Ari Paparo** (2:53)
Eye patches? You wear the eye covering to sleep?

**Eric** (2:57)
I think I'm going to bring some, an eye mask. I think I'm going to bring some earplugs. I don't know if I'm going to use them.
More importantly, what's the fit check for you? You've been on the road for some time, but Cannes is a unique place. It's got a unique dress code. Do you have a Cannes wardrobe that you bring out for this? Or you bring in your New York blacks, your black pants or black shirt? What's the situation?

**Ari Paparo** (3:30)
Yeah, it's a good question, and I think we should all be thinking about this a lot. Okay. First of all, for those of you, usually people get to Cannes and they're like, oh man, it's hotter than I thought because it's like 85 degrees. Just PSA, it's at least going to be 90 If you're using Celsius, 90 is somewhere between 2 and 50 I'm not really sure, but somewhere in that range.
So I'll also, while it's not relevant to this podcast, I'll say I'm in Paris right now where it's 100, which is also somewhere between 2 and 50
It's so hot. So I'm gonna be, I'm not answering a question, but I'm gonna be rolling on day one sunburned already. Everyone else is coming pasty white, looking forward to the rosé. I'm showing up bright pink and sweaty and in clothing that's been in my roll on for like, I don't know, two weeks.

**Eric** (4:20)
So it's like, So there's no linen outfits. There's no, you know, just hand suits that you bring out once a year. There's not?

**Ari Paparo** (4:30)
No, there is. It's all crumpled up. No. Okay. So the base, it's really simple. It's like, you got to go linen. No, absolutely no denim. It's just too hot. You know, maybe you're doing a lacoste or a nice colored shirt.
Got to wear a hat. Like you have to at least bring a hat. I have a hat. I don't wear hats. I'm not a hat guy. That's controversial. You got to bring a hat. Otherwise, you're going to get sunburned to shit. You're not a hat guy. You're not going to wear a hat.

**Eric** (4:56)
I'm not a hat guy. No.

**Ari Paparo** (4:58)
