The great state of Tennessee is about to execute its first female death row inmate in over 200 years this morning. And liberals are outraged that a woman would ever be held accountable for anything. No, I'm joking. They're outraged specifically because the woman was in her late teens when she committed this capital offense. Meanwhile, those very same liberals are calling for seven men's heads on a pike over an alleged rape that almost certainly they did not commit at Cornell when they were in their late teens and early 20s. Speaking of death and executions, a Tennessee woman is about to be executed for capital offense. First time Tennessee has executed a woman in over 200 years. The woman's name is Krista Pike. And the left is really upset about this. And there are all these last minute attempts to have this overturned and have a stay of the execution. You're hearing this largely from the left, but there are even some people on the right who don't want to see this execution. A lot of modern Catholics oppose capital punishment. And so they're saying this is wrong, this is terrible for all sorts of different reasons that we'll get into. But the chief argument that you're hearing in favor of stopping this execution is that the woman was only 18 years old when she committed the crime. That's the chief argument. Now she's much older because it takes forever to carry out the death penalty in the United States these days. Used to be pretty quick, now it takes decades. And they say, well, she committed the crime when she was 18, therefore she cannot be held responsible. And that's where the conversation stops. But it seems to me, before we adjudicate whether or not we think we should upend our system of law and order and stop this woman from being executed, let's at least figure out what exactly it was that she did when she was 18 years old.
