The studios are closed. It's Labor Day. Okay, that's fine. I don't care. I have to come to you. I have to come to you live or quasi live because the Trump administration has just proposed the, definitely the greatest family policy of either Trump 1 or Trump 2, maybe the greatest policy of either Trump 1 or Trump 2, and that is to support mothers mostly, but fathers too, I guess, who want to stay home and raise their kids. So, right off the bat, you are going to hear some people who are more laissez-faire, who are a little more either libertarian or neo-conny, they're going to say, well, we don't need another federal welfare program. Great, great news because this is not a new welfare program. There is an existing program, which is the Child Care and Development Fund. Right now, that program goes to subsidize single mothers almost entirely. So, it's a subsidy for mothers to pay for childcare so that they can go work in the widget factory, which is fine, that's all well and good. But what the Trump administration is doing, and apparently this is being spearheaded largely by the Vice President, JD Vance, what they're doing now is saying, okay, well, if we're going to be subsidizing single mothers to get childcare for their kids while they go out to the office, we should also offer some of this fund to mothers and fathers who want to stay at home and raise their kids themselves. This is really, really good stuff, and it's driving the left nuts. Because when the left says, you know, we just want to pay for medical insurance, we just want to give people childcare, that's obviously not really what they're talking about. This goes down to the early days of second wave feminism. This goes down to the heart of leftist policy. There was a famous debate, infamous debate in the 70s between Simone de Beauvoir, the French feminist, and Betty Friedan, who's another leftist feminist. She was American. And during this debate, Simone de Beauvoir said, we cannot give women the option to stay home and raise their kids, because if they have that option, too many women will take it. Betty Friedan, who was also wrong about everything and super lib and feminist, Betty Friedan said, whoa, lady, that's crazy. If women want to stay home, they should be able to, shouldn't they? And Simone de Beauvoir said, no, feminism cannot succeed if women have the ability to stay home and raise their kids. So we currently have a fund that is paying for childcare for people who struggle with it. The proposal from the Trump administration is, okay, well, if we already have this fund, can some of the money go toward mothers raising their own children rather than mothers going off to the office, being forced to go off to the office and then sending their kids to go be raised by Mom Donnie and a bunch of his bureaucrats? There was a Gallup poll that came out. This is some years ago now, somewhat recent, maybe 2015, 2016, somewhere around there, which showed that 54 percent of working mothers wish that they could stay home and raise their kids, at least for a period of time. So the majority of working mothers want to be able to stay home and raise their kids. And the leftists and the feminists have said, no, we'll subsidize you to go work, but we're not going to subsidize you to raise your kids, even out of that same fund.
