Before we get to the filing in the Tyler Robinson case, before we get to the Lindsay Clancy case, which I don't think I've talked about on this show yet at all until now, differently sad news coming out of the White House. Karoline Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, is stepping down after over a year and a half in the role. That's a brutal job. That job is sometimes one year in, one year out. In the case of the related job, the White House Communications Director, you will recall that Mr. Scaramucci spent a solid 11 days on that job. That's a very, very tough job. And Karoline Leavitt has survived a very long time. She's leaving on her own terms, on very good terms with the president. President writes, Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family. A decision I totally understand and respect. Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party as we work to defy history and conclusively win the midterms. Karoline has been a real leader in the White House and has done a phenomenal job fighting for justice, liberty and freedom since 2018, including our historic re-election campaign of 2024 Karoline has been one of the best White House press secretaries in the history of the office. You know, Trump has had some really good press secretaries, but I cannot think of a White House press secretary ever since that office was established who has done a better job than Karoline Leavitt.
Not just because I like her personally, but the mark to me is, can you think of one major error she's made in the role? Every press secretary has some big gaff, some big error. You think about Karine Jean-Pierre. Karine Jean-Pierre was particularly bad at the job, but her big error, her big weakness was she couldn't speak without the binder. So she'd have the binder in front of her. As long as she could find the answer, she could read the words on the page. But then whenever she was asked a question off the cuff, it was just a word salad of gobbledygook. She was not able to speak extemporaneously. She was really, really bad in that role. Really, I think the only reason that they couldn't fire her is because she checked off all the identity boxes. She was a woman, she was black, she was a lesbian. She checked off truly every box during Peekwoke, so they couldn't boot her out. They kept having to sub in that National Security Council spokesman. Now, his name actually escapes me at the moment. He was much better at the job, they couldn't sub out the white guy for her. So she was really bad. Do you think Jen Psaki, who came before KJP, Jen Psaki, she was okay in the role, but she would run out of answers, and then she would say she had to circle back. Remember that? Anytime she got an even semi-tough question, she goes, we're going to have to circle back to that one. She was pretty weak. I mean, I think Trump said very good ones. But even the good ones, you think about the media circus, the media tried to run on Sean Spicer, it was pretty ridiculous. But Sean Spicer said, you know, President Trump had the biggest crowd at his inauguration. And they said, actually, fact check, he had three fewer people than Obama did and blah. And he said, well, no, but when you take into account the Internet audience, the TV audience, the global audience, and they kept trying to tie that one around his neck. But with Karoline Leavitt, can you think of one major error? She just did a great job in the role. She looked good, she talked good, she knew what she was talking about. She brought a certain softness to the role that was a little bit deceptive actually, because she was a real killer. She was disciplined on message, could really twist the knife, but she did it with a smile. She really just very, very solid. So I think the White House is going to seriously miss her. Now, obviously, the race is on to figure out who will replace her. I think she's probably making the right decision. To last in that role over a year and a half is very impressive. She has these two young kids. She's the youngest person ever to hold that role. She did a great job. I mean, she is retiring after a perfect game. She's batting 1,000. She's got 27 strikeouts. She did a great job. I think she's smart to do it. But the Trump White House is going to suffer as a result because she did a really great job in that role. I hope the replacement can come close.
