New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced that his new government-run grocery stores will make sure the discounted goods are going to New Yorkers by checking ID cards. Which means, if I understand Democrats' logic on IDs correctly, that Mamdani plans to starve women and minorities. We will examine why Mamdani apparently wants Black people to vote but doesn't want them to eat. Then, Planned Parenthood promotes abortion as gender-affirming care, a statement, ironically, both misogynistic and transphobic. Very well done, Planned Parenthood.

Zohran Mamdani, the economic populist, the socialist mayor of New York ran on and is carrying out his plan to have government run grocery stores. Because he says groceries are too expensive. So you have New York state Democrats who are proposing to lower grocery prices by mandating a 10% discount.
Grocery stores have a 2% margin by the way, but they're going to mandate a 10% discount. And somehow through the magic of socialism, that will bring grocery prices down. Mamdani has a slightly different socialist idea. He is going to open up government run grocery stores in New York. He's going to open up five of them. And this raises a question, which is, well, how are you going to make sure that the groceries are going to the New Yorkers who need it? You know, the New Yorkers are paying for it through their taxes. So how are you going to make sure that people aren't coming in from New Jersey or Connecticut, Pennsylvania for that matter, to buy their groceries? How are you going to make sure that the system works? And Mamdani has a simple answer for that, ID cards.

Yes, if you look at our RFP for the operator, we are looking to make sure that we target New Yorkers, whether it be at sort of a library card exit, and also we manage who's buying and that is focused on everyday New Yorkers. So we are mindful of that. And so we're going to make sure that we have all the things in place to make sure that that does not happen.
