Now the establishment media are claiming that President Trump isn't even deporting as many illegal aliens as Joe Biden. But the establishment media are, as we all know, dirty rotten liars. So what is the truth? Well, happily, we have the numbers, the real numbers. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show.
Welcome back to the show. Comedian Bill Burr says that billionaires need to be put down like rabid dogs. Bill Burr is his funny guy, but he's been trending a little lib in recent years. We'll get to his exact comments. Didn't even totally sound like he was kidding. First though, to celebrate President's Day, starting today through next week, use promo code POTUS at checkout at mayflowercigars.com for 5% off. I know a lot of you have written in and have asked when your local cigar shop, your brick and mortar is going to get Mayflower cigars in, and I've said that we've had a little bit of a demand outstripping supply kind of situation for the first year of our company. However, we are in a good position right now, and we are heading to the PCA trade show, the Premium Cigar Association trade show. We're going to be there in about six weeks in New Orleans. So this is the time, if you want your local brick and mortar cigar shop to carry Mayflower cigars, then go to your local shop, ask the owner, whoever's working the desk that day, say, hey, I really want you guys to stock Mayflower cigars. And if you want to set an appointment and actually be able to get them into your shop, the way to do it, this is what you can instruct them. They go to mayflowercigars.com, then they click on the Become a Retailer page, and it'll just open up a form right there. It's mayflowercigars.com, or you can go directly to that page at mayflowercigars.com/stores.
You must be 21 years old or some exclusion supply. Right now go to showallegiance.com. We want a major victory in November. Getting America back on the right track. Best way to celebrate that victory is by flying your American flag that is made right here in America, not like most of them somewhere overseas. If there is one thing, one thing that you own that should be made in America, it is your American flag. First of all, I've noticed a lot of homes don't fly American flags outside them anymore. You should fly a flag outside your home. That is a good thing to do and it's almost a duty of yours as an American citizen. So do it. These are extraordinarily high quality flags. They are hand sewn in Charleston, South Carolina by dedicated craftsmen and women who put care into every stitch because they believe in what the flag stands for, okay? I love it. I have an Allegiance flag on a flag pole, like a home flag. Then I've got this slightly smaller flag. Then I've got this cool little key chain from Allegiance that has a flag in it, which my kids absolutely love. So I guess I'm never getting that key chain back. My kids love the American flag. The first song I ever learned was, it's a grand old flag. It's a high flying flag from my grandfather when I was a little boy. Right now, go to showallegiance.com. You can save $35 off your complete flag set. Really high quality stuff. Really important for every American citizen to go out and fly. showallegiance.com for American flags. Made by Americans for Americans. Okay, all of that business tucked away. What are the numbers? The Libs are saying that Trump isn't even doing as good a job on deportations as Joe Biden did. Joe Biden was probably the worst open borders president we have ever had in our country's history. Well, here are the real numbers. According to Customs and Border Protection, only 359 illegal aliens are being processed daily across the southern border. That means that in just the first few weeks of the Trump administration, of the second Trump administration, illegal border crossings are down 90%. Those are the numbers.
90% drop since Trump was inaugurated. That is 90% down from the same time last year. According to Mark Krikorian, who is the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, he says, if you kind of break down the numbers, we haven't had numbers this low since the 1960s. But according to Newsweek, Newsweek is saying that the numbers aren't that good. They're saying, according to publicly accessible data, Joe Biden's numbers were actually better than Trump's. This doesn't make any sense. Now, Daily Wire has then done a fact check of Newsweek's fact check of the immigration numbers, and the problem is that Newsweek is lumping in repatriations, people who were turned away at the border who never made it into America. So they're comparing apples to oranges here. Doesn't really check out. When you actually look at Joe Biden's numbers, Biden removed just under 48,000 illegal aliens in all of fiscal year 2024, and that was the most that Joe Biden had ever removed, and that is nothing. President Trump is on pace to vastly exceed that. Now this has to turn us back to another piece of fake news, not just the left-wing media trying to pretend that Trump's numbers aren't as good as Biden's. This needs to bring us back to fake news at the end of the campaign, over the summer and in the early fall of last year. Remember, we were told that the Democrats really, really wanted to deal with the border crisis, they just needed a bill to do it. You remember this? We have a border bill, we want to get that border bill passed, but that mean old Donald Trump, who's not a member of Congress, but he's calling up members of Congress, he's telling them to vote against this. If only we had that border bill, then we could take on the crisis of illegal immigration, the mass inflow of people across our southern border. But Trump didn't have a bill. It's not like the Congress passed some border bill since Trump was inaugurated. Trump is dealing with the same law, the same statutes that Joe Biden was dealing with. So why is it that Trump was able to knock the numbers down by 90% in just a few weeks on the job? Because Joe Biden never needed a border bill. So for the left and the squish Republicans, I remember at the time I was catching so much flak because I said this is ridiculous. We have immigration laws on the books, but you just need the executive to enforce the immigration laws already there. House Republicans certainly should not vote for this stupid border bill. One, it would make the border crisis worse. But two, even if we could pretend that it was going to improve the border crisis, the fact that the Democrats would not enforce the laws that are already on the books, means we have no reason to believe they would enforce some new immigration law that we passed. You don't need the border bill. You can just enforce the law if you want to do it, which the Democrats did not want to do. And now we have proof positive of that. 90% drop in just a few weeks. One hopes a good sign of even better things to come. Now, speaking of migration, a really, really sad news out of Germany yesterday. An Afghani asylum seeker drove his car into a crowd of people in Munich, injuring 28 people, including children. This days before the Munich Security Conference, at which JD. Vance is supposed to speak. JD. Vance just got in hot water for wading in to the issue of immigration and pointing out that traditionally, Christianity understands an order of charity, that we have particular responsibilities to those who are closest to us, to our families, those in our local communities, to our co-religionists, to our countrymen. And we need to make sure that we take care of them because if we totally ignore their needs and their safety and their concerns and we give all of our charity to people on the other side of the world that we don't really know, that would actually be a perversion of charity. That was his argument. He cited the Ordo Amoris and the scholastic Christian tradition. Well, this is a good example of this because the German government in particular, but Europe broadly and including America, the whole West has prioritized the supposed needs of others. People from far flung nations around the world, people of dubious ideologies of different religions, have brought them all in there and it's led to rape gangs throughout Europe and the UK. It's led to stabbings, it's led to mass murder, it's led to multiple attacks by the same kinds of people always on big markets in Europe. Now, just before the security conference, you have an Afghani asylum seeker who mows down a crowd of people. It's always the ones you most expect. Seems to prove JD's point and it's important, I think, that this guy was an asylum seeker because a lot of this debate over migration hinges on the asylum seekers, the people who are supposedly seeking refuge. Okay, in America, we can say, well, actually, the vast majority of illegal aliens are not asylum seekers fleeing violence or something. They're actually just economic migrants who realize they can make more money in the United States, so they're going to break our laws to do it. There's very, very little argument to take those people in. But what about the asylum seekers? Well, look, this guy who just mowed down a crowd of people in Germany, he was an asylum seeker, but he obviously should not have been permitted into the country. It was a dereliction of the German government's duty toward its own citizens to let this guy in. It means that our leaders need discernment to decide who can and who cannot come in. There is a novel suggestion that Christianity means we need totally open borders. There's this novel suggestion that it is immoral or intrinsically evil to point out that breaking immigration law makes one a criminal. But that has never been the case in the West, and great evils can come from neglecting our duties toward our own citizens. Now, speaking of Muslim terrorists, there is a story out of USAID, Elon is uncovering stuff that you would not believe. There's so much more to say. First, though, go to livegood.com/michael.
