Suffering from dry, tired, irritated eyes?
Scott Galloway (0:34)
Don't let dry eyes win. Use Sustained Pro. It hydrates, restores, and protects dry eyes for up to 12 hours.
SPEAKER_2 (0:41)
Sustained Pro, triple action dry eye relief. I wrote a little song to remind you, Choice Hotels gets you more of the experiences you value.
Kara Swisher (1:21)
This is Pivot from New York Magazine and the Vox Media Podcast Network. I'm Kara Swisher.
Scott Galloway (1:25)
And I'm Scott Galloway.
Kara Swisher (1:26)
Scott, I have a new date. Did you notice?
Scott Galloway (1:28)
I know you're cheating on me. Talk about the ultimate co-host upgrade.
Kara Swisher (1:33)
I know. I know.
Scott Galloway (1:34)
It's true. It was a little bit striking. I didn't even mind. It's like I'm the worst kid on the Bad News Bears and A-Rod shows up. I'm like, play second base. I'm like, okay, I get it. I get it.
Kara Swisher (1:46)
It's true because one thing is sometimes we talk about political or national issues and we're talking about the execution thing and then she's like, we're in the room when we killed Osama bin Laden and this is what we did when we had to deal with issues of whether to show his picture or not. You're like, she was in the room and then somewhere else, she's like, when we were dealing with that on this issue, and I was like, Scott does not have this background. She's like, zealing.
Scott Galloway (2:11)
I'm like, when I was in the fraternity.
Kara Swisher (2:14)
Drank it and saw it go by on television or whatever it is. She was great. It's racing up the charts. I got to tell you, it's racing. I knew it would.
Scott Galloway (2:23)
Well, what's really unusual about this is for you to talk about the success of something you're working on. So that's really unusual. Yeah.
Kara Swisher (2:32)
I'm just making money for the Vox Media Podcast Network. That is beautiful.
Scott Galloway (2:36)
Got to pay the bills.
Kara Swisher (2:39)
I'm kidding.
I think people are dying for substance. I really, truly do. I think they're tired of this clown car of a Trump administration, and intelligence is making its way back. You talk about that a lot.
Scott Galloway (2:51)
Yeah.
She has a newfound affection because I think people appreciate intelligence. Also, she does hit it straight down the middle. I don't think people, Fox essentially turned their sights on her for four years and tried to convince America. She was like this incandescent blue candidate. She's actually pretty centrist.
Kara Swisher (3:10)
She is, very much so.
Scott Galloway (3:11)
But yeah, I don't like to listen to your work, but I forced myself to listen to that one.
Kara Swisher (3:16)
Well, she's good. You can listen to her and then just go fast forward through me.
Scott Galloway (3:20)
I decided I needed a piece of media with a woman who's been underestimated by men for 50 years and a woman who spent 50 years telling them they're wrong.
Kara Swisher (3:32)
Well, it's working. It's working. It's working. I also got to spend the day with Carrie Russell the other day. So my whole week has been really fantastic.
Scott Galloway (3:39)
I like her and her husband.
Kara Swisher (3:40)
I know.
Scott Galloway (3:41)
I think to be friends with them.
Kara Swisher (3:42)
It was the cast of The Diplomat. A lot of strong badass ladies.
Scott Galloway (3:45)
Can I give some dating advice?
Kara Swisher (3:47)
Sure. Go ahead.
Scott Galloway (3:48)
Just speaking of strong ladies, the best advice that I've heard from a woman on dating, and I want you to pass this by the secretary.
Kara Swisher (3:57)
Okay.
Scott Galloway (4:00)
Lure them in with the titties, feed them bacon, and then let the mental illnesses present themselves.
What? Did you just like drag women?
Kara Swisher (4:08)
We're back. No. My God.
Scott Galloway (4:10)
We're back.
Kara Swisher (4:11)
Oh, my God, Shane fucking Gillis.
Scott Galloway (4:14)
Just a little contrast. Just want to make sure you know you're on Pivot with Scott Galloway, not with the secretary. Bounce that one off the secretary.
