You took an HR course?
Scott Galloway (1:42)
Well, I was forced to after the settlement.
Kara Swisher (1:47)
Hi, everyone. This is Pivot from New York Magazine and Vox Media Podcast Network. I'm Kara Swisher.
Scott Galloway (1:52)
I'm Scott Galloway.
Kara Swisher (1:53)
Scott. I had the best weekend. Clara turned seven and we had a witch birthday party.
Scott Galloway (1:58)
Really? Yes. That's exciting. God, she's seven.
SPEAKER_1 (2:00)
She's seven. That's crazy.
Kara Swisher (2:01)
It was such a good birthday party.
SPEAKER_1 (2:03)
Yeah.
Kara Swisher (2:03)
It was so good. Yeah, a lot of girls. Yeah, she had a mixed group of people. It was really fun. Amanda, of course, baked a cake. I jokingly called her trad wife and all the other parents stared at me.
It was a joke. She baked a delicious cake.
Scott Galloway (2:19)
That's nice.
Kara Swisher (2:19)
Yeah, it's really nice. I can't believe how old she is. Honestly, it's crazy.
Scott Galloway (2:23)
Amanda is younger than you. Yes.
SPEAKER_4 (2:25)
Claire.
Scott Galloway (2:28)
Number three are going to go really young.
Kara Swisher (2:31)
I am not remarrying again. I really love Amanda Katz.
Scott Galloway (2:34)
You know why men marry women much younger than them?
Kara Swisher (2:36)
Why?
Scott Galloway (2:37)
Because they can, Kara.
Kara Swisher (2:39)
Very funny. You're still in Los Angeles wandering around malls, I see.
Scott Galloway (2:44)
I am. That's how bored I got. I went to the Century City Mall.
Kara Swisher (2:47)
That is like dystopian.
Scott Galloway (2:49)
It's nice.
Kara Swisher (2:50)
It is. The mall is nice. Century City is. That's where they filmed one of the last Plan of the Apes. I don't know if you know that. Oh my God.
Scott Galloway (2:57)
That goes way back. They filmed it right outside of the Schubert Theater, where I saw a chorus line in Beetlemania with my mom.
Kara Swisher (3:04)
Beetlemania. I saw Beetlemania.
Scott Galloway (3:07)
We used to go, this is like the 70s. We used to go wait in line for tickets where people didn't show up, and occasionally you could get like a fourth-row ticket for like eight bucks. I'd go with my mom to see plays at the Schubert Theater.
Kara Swisher (3:19)
Beetlemania. Wow.
Scott Galloway (3:21)
Yeah.
Kara Swisher (3:22)
Anyway, so you're wandering around a mall. I was like, what is he doing?
Scott Galloway (3:27)
I have been so cooped up, and then I walked over to the Century City Mall, and I loved it. I walked around, and I did this great review of all the retailers. I'm like, Macy's, sometimes it's darkest before it's pitch black. My favorite new brands, James Purse, Buck Mason.
Kara Swisher (3:41)
James Purse is nice. You have a lot of James Purse stuff that I've stolen. I know that.
Scott Galloway (3:46)
Do you? Yeah, those are my go-tos. Did I just say that?
Kara Swisher (3:48)
Yeah. They're really nice.
Yeah. I bet you were, when you were in the mall, do you remember Spencer's Gifts? I put that in the little-
Scott Galloway (3:54)
Spencer's Gifts? Do you remember Spencer's? No, I'm not 110
Kara Swisher (3:57)
Well, come on. We're the same age, Scott. We're essentially the same age.
Scott Galloway (4:00)
Kara, you are much older than me.
