Did you see the news?

El Salvador, the first country to make Bitcoin legal tender, has abandoned Bitcoin for stable coins. Well, that was the headline coming from Bloomberg. Wait, Bloomberg? That Bloomberg, the same one that Bitcoin continues to embarrass? The one that charges you a fee for a terminal to underperform Bitcoin? This has to be fake news.

Oh, ladies and gentlemen, and guess who popped in to destroy the lame stream media? Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert joined Simply Bitcoin Live completely spontaneously. And that was insane seeing it come together in real time. Opti got scolded for a clickbait headline. I will explain to you how Opti was actually playing 5D chess the whole time. And he fell on the sword. He sacrificed himself for the truth. We are going to play the full interview with Max and Stacy, see what's happening and why the attacks continue on Bukele and Bitcoin country. And also, stay until the finish because I'm going to take you inside the mind of an Opti. Also, we are going to dunk on Virtue signaling Commies and Birkenstocks. Has El Salvador abandoned Bitcoin? Is the El Salvador experiment a failure? Let's see what the High Priestess and the Queen of B over at the Bitcoin office in El Salvador have to say.

Nico Moran (1:37)

And you responded on Twitter. I saw the screenshot, fake news. So I'm going to give you guys the floor. What is going on in El Salvador with Bitcoin?

SPEAKER_3 (1:47)

El Salvador is Bitcoin country. It is Bitcoin-only country, and we have a Bitcoin diploma. We have a Bitcoin Historico, Bitcoin conference, and that's our only strategy. Our strategy is Bitcoin country, and it's a powerful brand, and that's why everybody wants to be associated with it, or talk about it, or the headlines.

Really try to focus on that. So what happened is that there is a company called Modvion, and I'm not involved with this, but there is part of the government that works on community and municipality development. They developed an app for community, just for community, developing communities, like a Facebook, for communities.

If anything were changing with Bitcoin policy, or if we were to ever do a Bitcoin wallet again, we just sold Chivo to a private company. We have nothing to do with any Bitcoin crypto or stablecoin wallets, and we have no plans. So this is not part of whatever the community aspect of the app that they're developing. We have no plans for any sort of app wallet, anything like that for El Salvador. So if we change that stance, it'll come through the Bitcoin office. You'll see it announced there. So that's...

Stacy Herbert (3:38)

Yeah, definitely. Now Bitcoin office is celebrating, I believe, four years soon, the anniversary coming up. And it was really a dual mandate. One is Bitcoin only, and the other was to kind of create a moat and make sure that we stay true to Bitcoin only, a Bitcoin country. And that's the job that the office does, headed up by Stacy, of course, who is doing a fantastic job in that regard.

SPEAKER_3 (4:02)

Got it.

Nico Moran (4:03)

Okay. So, I mean, I guess not surprised that Coinbase and some other app is now trying to officially connect themself with Naib Bukele himself.

SPEAKER_3 (4:16)

Well, I mean, President Bukele is, he's like the supermodel of world leaders, right? He's the philosopher king. Everybody wants to be associated with him on every policy that he's involved with, whether it's security, economic, Bitcoin. Bitcoin is one of our most powerful brand identities, I believe.

I might be biased because I run the Bitcoin office. But I think everybody has, since the beginning, has wanted to be associated with him. Anybody in crypto wants to be associated with him. But just think about it.

If we were going to launch a stable coin, chances are we would do it with the biggest company in crypto, who also is headquartered in El Salvador, right? So, I mean, people should have questioned it from the very beginning. It's if we were going to do, if Bitcoin country and President Najib Bukele and his reputation and his, you know, ethical stance, he has, he's never, you know, launched his own meme coin, for example, like many world leaders have and, and just anybody politically connected has launched their own meme coin.

He's stayed Bitcoin only. He's, you know, there is, it's, it's, it was, people should have questioned the story more, including yourselves. You ran with a clickbait headline and it was fake news. And I will say that, yeah, it, my guess would be if we, you know, we don't have any plans to launch a stable coin wallet, but if we were to ever have one, I would just assume it was going to be the biggest company in the world, which is Tether, the biggest crypto company based out of El Salvador. And it would not be something on base. It would be something that would be on, you know, Bitcoin. So we're having a Bitcoin Historico, for example, bitcoinhistorico.com. You could come to our Bitcoin Conference, it's put on by the government in the National Palace. And there will be, you know, on stage, one of the speakers will be the groupie behind UTEXO, the company which is launching this Tether on RGB, right, on Bitcoin. So, like, it doesn't make any sense that we would have... So, people sort of question more, including yourselves. You're just like the fake news.
