Bloomberg Audio Studios, podcasts, radio, news.

You're listening to Bloomberg Businessweek with Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec on Bloomberg Radio.
**Carol Massar** (0:14)
Maybe I'm just kind of excited because we have a super favorite person in town. She's normally in London. She is known all over the world for her coverage of food, beverage and restaurants.
She knows that space so well, but now CEOs are also dishing it out to her.
**Tim Stenovec** (0:33)
We're talking about Kate Krader. She's Bloomberg Pursuits food editor. She's behind the CEO diet. It's a monthly series in Bloomberg Businessweek in which executives from around the world tell Kate how they manage their time in and out of the office.
**Kate Krader** (0:46)
It's become really fun. You feel like a CEO therapist, psychiatrist telling you how they get through their day, what their AI time is.
**Tim Stenovec** (0:55)
Some of them are taking mushrooms.
That's what I like. I had to Google those mushrooms, Kate. Those are the legal kind of mushrooms that you wrote about with this one CEO. He was— Is it true med payments or true payments, CEO?
**Kate Krader** (1:08)
I think that's right. Yeah, that's exactly right. And I think what was that? That was like how— What was that? His meditation?
**Tim Stenovec** (1:14)
Yeah, that was how he psychs up for a big moment, I think.
**Kate Krader** (1:18)
Oh my god, Tim, you're going to have to become the editor of CEO Diet now.
**Tim Stenovec** (1:21)
Oh, sorry. That one just really stuck with me because some of them— They get pretty candid.
**Kate Krader** (1:27)
You know which one was a big— It was actually kind of fun also because it came with a picture. We did a really good one a couple months ago, like what was your first job and what did you learn from it? And David Solomon, his first job was scooping ice cream in New Jersey, New York— No, in the Westchester County at a Baskin-Robbins. And he said it taught him to interface with people, like he realized how much he enjoyed talking to people, but also getting the order right. So he knew he had to respond. You know, he had to like know what people were saying. And then this guy, Billy Holt, I think he's at TradeWeb. He worked at an off-track bedding, and he learned, so he learned like to count money really quickly.
**Carol Massar** (2:10)
Isn't that funny how these things that like you do when you're younger, that really kind of maybe kind of lay the groundwork for where you end up?
**Tim Stenovec** (2:18)
And you never know, right?
**Kate Krader** (2:19)
Like the path you never ever know.
**Carol Massar** (2:21)
Yeah, exactly. So there's a bunch of stories, Kate, go where you want because it's you and you can do whatever you want. But there's how 12 bosses use AI for time saving productivity and success, how 13 CEOs and bosses psych themselves up for their big moments, which is kind of interesting because I think you, I think sometimes you assume somebody gets to a certain position and they can, they just go for it, but they still kind of have to get themselves somewhere. And then there's biggest money regrets in their careers.
**Kate Krader** (2:48)
Those are fantastic. I do think psyching yourself up for a big moment is so helpful. There was one, and the answers range, like from taking psychedelic mushrooms to having that same sort of, some of it is not surprising, right? That you just have to like know your, you have to, it's as if you're going on stage for a concert, as if you're BTS and you're going on stage for a concert, and you want to like just know everything backwards and forwards and make sure that there's no room for error. And then another CEO said she gets a blowout. She just makes sure she's got her best face forward, and that's how you do it.
But we had this last the most week.
**Carol Massar** (3:28)
Wait, I have to just tell you, I officiated, I've done two of my nieces, Claudia and also Sarah, have gotten married, and I officiated, and I really, I'd spent quite-
**Tim Stenovec** (3:38)
Carol's available for hire.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:39)
Oh my God, that's good.
**Tim Stenovec** (3:40)
She will travel to weddings.
**Carol Massar** (3:43)
But it's been an honor, and it's people I love tremendously. But the second one, I'm like, I need to get a blowout, because I'm used to feeling my work face and my, you know, kind of, and it was really important me to get a blowout for my wedding.
