Platner and Talarico, two just glorious figures, reoccurring characters on the Ruthless Variety Program.

**Comfortably Smug** (0:08)
Talarico stuff is like, dude.

**Michael Duncan** (0:10)
Where do they find these guys?

**Comfortably Smug** (0:12)
And like, this is, Schumer handpicked this clown. There is something super selling about this guy. Like when he said that thing in that interview, where he's like, I'm always thinking about, like, I love trans kids.

**John Ashbrook** (0:22)
He should just stop lying, because he's really bad at it.

**Josh Holmes** (0:24)
So Graham Platner's like, you know what, hold my beer.

**Comfortably Smug** (0:27)
Yeah, he's like, I can't let this guy get it.

**Josh Holmes** (0:29)
There has not been a week since you've known my name that I haven't given you something. And now I'm going to give you a real heavy dose.

**Comfortably Smug** (0:37)
When you get a dude who shows up at these things and he's like, I'm an ally, that's like the number one sign of a predator, likely worst scent candidate of all time.

**Josh Holmes** (0:46)
Of all time.

**John Ashbrook** (0:49)
The big three mobile carriers control massive amounts of licensed spectrum. Now they want the shared airwaves your wifi depends on too.
They're brazenly pushing to reclaim the unlicensed spectrum that the first Trump administration allocated for the wifi that powers our connected lives. That's not competition. That's rigging the game. Shared spectrum is what keeps wifi open, affordable and widely available. Big mobile's backdoor effort puts that advantage at risk. And it's happening at exactly the wrong time. America is in a technology race with China and we're winning in wifi innovation. Wifi carries 90% of our mobile data and gives America the infrastructure to meet AI's growing demands. Don't let the big three mobile carriers turn America's wifi advantage into their private toll road. Protect the innovation spectrum policies that keep America ahead.

Fun Time Friday. Welcome back to the Ruthless Friday program.

**Josh Holmes** (2:35)
I'm Josh Holmes along with Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook. Left to right across your radio dial. It is indeed going to be a fun time. There was a lot to choose from this week.
Because the Democrats, they had primaries.
Then we've already covered the hosted candidates that they've tried to put out and they've gotten through primaries. It was like a real piecing of things together. I hope everybody enjoyed yesterday's show. I know we had a good time putting that one together, just how insane the New York contingency is. But it edged out Platner and Talarico, two just glorious figures, reoccurring characters on the Ruthless Variety Program. And they have more.

**Comfortably Smug** (3:24)
Also, especially, we'll get to the Talarico stuff, is like, dude.

**Michael Duncan** (3:28)
What do they find these guys?

**Comfortably Smug** (3:30)
And like, this is, Schumer handpicked this clown. This is Schumer's kid and like, really?

**Josh Holmes** (3:37)
So like, you know, look, I understand midterms are challenging. You know, there's 120 years of electoral history. When you're the party in power, you lose 16 to 18 seats. I know the math.
I'm just not sure that anybody's fielded a crew of candidates that are as fucking horrible as Democrats are. And it's an embodiment of what the Democratic Party has become. It's not like they've just had, you know, like Republicans in, what, 2010, 2012, when they had that sort of rash of the Todd Aikens and the witch and Sharon Angle and all those. Like, that was just a really, that was a rough batch of recruits.

**Comfortably Smug** (4:20)
Those are two cycles specifically where it was like, all of a sudden, you know, we have good chances, and all of a sudden, we get like two or three nightmare candidates that you're like, how did this happen? And they just try to drag the whole team down with them. Okay, so now, it feels like, are it way worse? Like in 2014, when I got involved with candidate recruitment, we straightened that shit out.
Yeah.

**John Ashbrook** (4:42)
I wrote the history.
