I can't stop scratching my downtown.
Yeah, but I'm not itching to go downtown and tell a receptionist I'm here to talk about my downtown. Some things you'd rather type than say out loud.

I'm Ryan Reynolds. Are you looking for a mint mobile? Are you looking for a beach read this summer? May I suggest your big wireless bill? It's got suspense, mystery, a slightly flat emotional arc, and a shocking twist, where you realize you've been overpaying the entire time. Fortunately, though, Mint's story is better. Every plan, $15 a month, even unlimited. That's it, happy ending, zero tears. Give it a try at mintmobile.com/switch.

**Sophie Ross Brooks** (1:44)
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to Snark Bait. I'm Sophie.
**Christy Noel** (1:49)
I'm Christy. How's it going, Soph?
**Sophie Ross Brooks** (1:51)
I'm doing OK.
We are recording on Monday, August 17 So obviously, we are still kind of reeling from the news of Hayden Panettiere's very tragic death. We, the news broke last night, pretty late East Coast time. I was like literally about to go to bed when I saw the TMZ notification. And yeah, it's obviously, I know that you are devastated by it. It is just so tragic. You would just watch her Jay Shetty interview, right?
**Christy Noel** (2:27)
Yeah, and you guys all know how I feel about Jay Shetty. I can't stand the man. But this was the only interview I've ever watched of his because I've always been so captivated by her story. And I feel like as millennial women, we grew up with her, remember the Titans, bring it on.
I didn't watch Nashville, but now I feel like I need to. Heroes. Heroes, where she was dating Milo Ventimiglia.
**Sophie Ross Brooks** (2:51)
Yeah, save the cheerleader, save the world.
**Christy Noel** (2:54)
Yeah, she's just such an iconic celebrity.
**Sophie Ross Brooks** (2:57)
Do you know that she played Dot? She voiced Dot in A Bug's Life, which I didn't even know.
**Christy Noel** (3:02)
I did know that. I did know that. She was an ice princess and then people are now showing that image of her and Michelle Trachtenberg, may they both rest in peace. I mean, gone far too soon.
**Sophie Ross Brooks** (3:12)
Yeah.
**Christy Noel** (3:13)
And no, I mean, like, I was last night, I was with some family and we were watching a movie and Sophie texted me like mid movie and I could not concentrate the entire rest of the movie because I was just like, I've, you know, you always know where you were when certain celebrities die and you feel like you have a very heightened parasocial relationship with them. I literally audibly went, like, no.
**Sophie Ross Brooks** (3:36)
It was, I think you said your heart stopped or something like that. Or like, my stomach dropped or whatever it was. And I physically, like, I remember when I saw that, I was like, my heart, my stomach flopped. Like, it completely was like a physical sensation reading that. It's like, you don't even think it's possible, you know, when you see something like that. You're like, how is that even possible?
**Christy Noel** (4:00)
I mean, it makes absolutely no sense. She was only 36 years old. And honestly, I was just thinking of not that they're similar or whatever, I was just thinking of Britney Murphy and how she died at 32 And we did a whole Patreon episode on the tragic death and just the mysteriousness of Britney Murphy's death. Hers was, we don't know much about Hayden Panettiere's death. Honestly, right now, we know that it was an alleged overdose.
**Sophie Ross Brooks** (4:21)
Yeah, overdose with cardiac arrest.
**Christy Noel** (4:23)
Right. And, you know, paramedics found her unresponsive at a home in Greenville, South Carolina. I didn't even, I don't know if it was her home, it was a friend's home. Like, we know nothing outside of that. And it's 7 a.m. Monday, August 17th. So by the time this releases, maybe we will know more.
