Christy Noel (1:17)
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Snark Bait. I'm Christy.
Sophie Ross Brooks (1:22)
I'm Sophie.
Christy Noel (1:23)
How's it going, Soph?
Sophie Ross Brooks (1:26)
I am good. Happy Jewish New Year to all of our Jewish baby Starks, Shana Tova. How is London? You're in London town.
Christy Noel (1:38)
London town. Well, no, first, before we get into me, I was going to ask, what are some traditions that Jewish people do to celebrate the New Year?
Sophie Ross Brooks (1:47)
So apples and honey, which signifies a sweet new year. So had lots of apples and honey this weekend. I went to my in-laws.
Christy Noel (1:55)
I have apples right here. I'm going to eat some of this.
Sophie Ross Brooks (1:57)
You just eat honey. You just eat honey.
SPEAKER_3 (1:59)
Yes, we have some honey.
Sophie Ross Brooks (2:01)
We also, I mean, it's not really necessarily a Rosh Hashanah tradition as much as just a Jewish tradition. Ate so much matzah ball soup, and I'm so happy I have leftovers in the fridge right now, so I'm going to have that for lunch.
And my mother-in-law is just like the best cook. She makes everything from scratch. She bakes from scratch. She just like is so good. So I'm so excited to eat my leftovers. And yeah, so wishing everyone a sweet new year.
Christy Noel (2:28)
All organic. I love that. Sounds like she's a very organic queen.
And no, I love that. I love that for you guys. Happy new year.
London is really good. The weather is quite humid, shockingly. Oh, wow. I'm like, I've been sweating, like genuinely sweating. But I have to say TikTok is such a good travel companion in the sense of if you want to find ways to take good photos in really, really like iconic places, but you don't, you want to like beat the crowds, it'll show you like secret places to take good photos. So we've been discovering that and it's been a lot of, a lot of fun. And of course hung out with Audrey and Miss Mo. And no, it's been, it's honestly been a blast. And have you ever been to Dishoom? Have you, have you been to London before? You have, right?
Sophie Ross Brooks (3:17)
I haven't, I haven't been to London in like 20 years. So no, I need to go back.
Christy Noel (3:23)
Yes, you do. And it's so close for you from New York.
Sophie Ross Brooks (3:27)
I know it is. Like, I don't know why I haven't gone.
Christy Noel (3:30)
I know you have, you have to come. It's only, it's, the flight is like basically equal distance from when you come to see me and come to California. But, yes, it's been lovely. There's this place called Deschoum, and it's an Indian restaurant in the UK.
I don't know if it's exclusively in London or if it's throughout the UK, but we've gotten it. We're going to get it again tonight. And we just got it through like their version of DoorDash called Deliveroo. And I was telling Audrey, I was like, Deliveroo, it would be called Deliveroo. So cute. And Audrey goes, you would get Deschoum. Like all Americans love that. I'm like, oh really?
Sophie Ross Brooks (4:04)
Oh, cause she's like, it's a chain restaurant. It's like TGI Fridays.
Christy Noel (4:07)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's like, Americans love it, but it's like amazing, amazing Indian food. And I love Indian food. Probably one of my favorite cuisines, honestly.
So no, it's been a lot of fun and we have much to discuss because I know you and I have a hard stop. We have a lot of things going on in our busy day. So, and also we apologize for just a little bit of a late publishing, published date. We both have just had really chaotic schedules over the last couple of days. So thank you for bearing with us, but we're happy to be here in your ears because we have much to talk about. Where do you want to start?
