SPEAKER_3 (0:47)

Unbelievable.

SPEAKER_2 (0:49)

Now, NFL Network is on the ESPN app. More football, more coverage, more ways to watch.

Football's on, all season long, on ESPN and streaming on the ESPN app.

Christy Noel (1:18)

Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Dark Energy Tuesday. Another episode of Snark Bait. I'm Christy.

Sophie Ross Brooks (1:24)

I'm Sophie.

Christy Noel (1:26)

How are you doing, Sophie? How was your, how was the wedding?

Sophie Ross Brooks (1:31)

It was really fun. Yeah, I had a wedding in Chicago. It was a great time seeing some old pals. And now it is Monday, Labor Day, actually, September 7th. And I'm at my in-laws because they were watching Baxter for the weekend. And we are going back to the city tonight.

Yeah, how was your Labor Day weekend?

Christy Noel (1:56)

It was good. We had, I helped host three of my friends' joint birthday party.

So it was a lot of like, it looked great. And it was, yeah, honestly, it like really came together. We did, the theme was called One Drop Older because all of them are turning various ages. And we made it lemon theme. And it was, it really turned out super well. We hired like a bartender, a photographer. It was, it was like a really good production and we had a great turn out. So that was really fun. And we had lemon flavored drinks. And I'm like, wait, should I go into event planning? Like I wouldn't do the aesthetics. I would just be behind the scenes, you know?

Sophie Ross Brooks (2:38)

Logistics.

SPEAKER_2 (2:39)

Yeah. Exactly.

Sophie Ross Brooks (2:40)

You'd be, you'd be good at that for sure. You're very, very, very organized.

Christy Noel (2:44)

Thank you. Thank you. So yeah, no, it was a lot of fun. And now I am just happy to be here because I feel like we have a lot to talk about on our document today because there's just been a lot of things that have happened over the course of even the last three days. And I think we will be remiss to not bring up the Amanda Hirsch, Not Skinny But Not Fat Polymarket ad regarding the Lindsay Clancy trial that has recently resulted in a mistrial. And it's been a very, you know, it's been everywhere, this trial. And Amanda Hirsch definitely made a very grave error. And I want to hear your thoughts about it, because you have a couple of bullet points here.

Sophie Ross Brooks (3:24)

Yeah, I was absolutely, we were talking about this in our group chat, and I was absolutely appalled by this. I feel like, first of all, just the concept of Polymarket and Cauchy, and like these apps that you can bet on anything, including wars, including murder trials, like you are betting on people's lives. It is gamifying real life shit, and also facilitating gambling addictions, that also. But like, it is so, it's literally Black Mirror. Like the fact that you can bet on people's lives is so dystopian to me. So for context, you guys, if you somehow missed this, Amanda Hirsch, aka Not Skinny But Not Fat, very successful podcaster, influencer. She has like a reality, she hosts a reality, you know, interview series on Hulu now.

She did an ad for Polymarket, a podcast under Dear Media, and I guess Dear Media has a huge Polymarket, you know, partnership. So not only is it, you know, I think dark energy in general to partner with Polymarket, but this ad in question was after the Lindsay Clancy trial resulted in a mistrial, she did this ad where she went, so I actually thought it was going to be a not guilty verdict. She, the caption is, the judge declared a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy trial on Polymarket. It was predicted that the verdict would be not guilty. Are you surprised? Hashtag Polymarket partner. Just absolutely, you're talking about a murder trial where three children were killed, three young children. It is absolutely despicable.
