I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I've done and in what I failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore, I ask Blessed Mary Ever-Virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. September 18th, 2026, Friday of the 24th week in Ordinary Time.

Soon afterwards, he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of God's kingdom. With him were the Twelve, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities.
Mary, who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Cousas, Herod's steward, Susanna, and many others who served them from their possessions.

The Gospel of the Lord. Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.
Accompanying him were the Twelve, and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities. Mary called Magdalene from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna, the wife of Herod's steward, Chusa, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources. Jesus did not travel alone. The Twelve were with him, but Luke also makes a point of naming several women who followed him and supported his ministry. Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, and many others gave from their own resources so that the work could continue. Their role may not have looked as visible as preaching to crowds or performing miracles, but it mattered. They offered what they had, and their generosity became part of Jesus' mission.
This reminds us that serving God does not always require doing something extraordinary. We can serve through our time, our abilities, our money, our work, or simply by helping someone who is already doing good. What matters is our willingness to place something of our own into God's hands. There is also something meaningful about the people look names. Mary Magdalene had experienced healing and freedom through Jesus. Her response was not simply gratitude in words. She followed him and became part of his ministry. We may sometimes wonder what we can offer God, especially when what we have feels small. But the Gospel does not ask everyone to serve in the same way. It asks us to recognize what has been given to us and decide how we can use it for something greater than ourselves. What resources, abilities or time has God given us that we could use to help others or support. His work? Lord Jesus, thank. You for all that. You have given us.
Help us to recognize the ways we can serve. You with our time, abilities and resources. Give us generous hearts and the willingness to use what we have for. Your work and for those who need our help.
Amen.
