In his teaching, he said to them, Beware of the scribes who like to walk in long robes and to get greetings in the market places, and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts. Those who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.
Jesus sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much. A poor widow came, and she cast in two small brass coins, which equal a quadrant's coin. He called his disciples to him and said to them, Most certainly, I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who were giving into the treasury, for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.

The Gospel of the Lord Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury, for they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had. Her whole lifelihood.
The widow in this Gospel probably went unnoticed by most people around her. Others gave large amounts from what they could spare. She gave two small coins that seemed insignificant beside the offerings of the wealthy. Yet Jesus noticed her immediately. Why? Because she gave with trust. God does not measure generosity the way the world does. People often look at numbers, results or appearances. Jesus looked at the sacrifice behind the offering. The widow gave not from comfort, but from faith. She held nothing back. Many of us may feel that what we have is too little. Too little time, too little energy, too little talent, too little strength. We compare ourselves with others and think our contribution does not matter. But God sees every hidden act done with love. A small prayer, a helping hand, a message sent to encourage someone, showing up for a person when we are already tired, none of these are wasted in His eyes. Sometimes, the greatest offerings come from people carrying the heaviest burdens. Jesus reminds us today that faith is not about impressing others. It is about giving our hearts honestly to God, even when life feels uncertain.
What am I still holding back from God because I think it is too small, too weak, or not enough?
Lord, teach us to give with sincerity and trust.
Help us not to measure our worth by what others can see. Receive even the small things we offer you today, and use them for good. Amen.

He descended into hell. The third day, He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.
From there, He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
