June 27, 2026, Saturday of the 12th week in Ordinary Time. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him, and saying, Lord, my servant lies in the house, paralyzed, grievously tormented. Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered, Lord, I am not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, go, and he goes, and tell another, come, and he comes, and tell my servant, do this, and he does it.
When Jesus heard it, he marveled and said to those who followed, Most certainly, I tell you, I haven't found so great a faith, not even in Israel. I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Jesus said to the centurion, Go your way, let it be done for you as you have believed. His servant was healed in that hour.
When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother lying sick with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her.
She got up and served him. When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.

The Gospel of the Lord When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, Lord, my servant is lying at home, paralyzed, suffering dreadfully. He said to him, I will come and cure him. The centurion said in reply, Lord, I'm not worthy to have you enter under my roof. Only say the word and my servant will be healed. The centurion did not ask Jesus to come and inspect the situation. He did not demand proof or a sign. He believed that Jesus had authority and that his word alone was enough. What makes this encounter remarkable is the centurion's humility. Although he was a man of rank and authority, he approached Jesus with honesty. He knew his limitations and openly admitted, I'm not worthy. At the same time, his humility did not stop him from trusting. Instead, it led him to place his confidence entirely in Jesus.
Many of us pray while carrying worries about our family, health, work or future. We want answers, solutions and certainty. Yet, this gospel reminds us that faith is not about having all the details. Faith is trusting that Jesus is at work even when we cannot see how things will unfold.
The centurion believed before the miracle happened. His confidence rested not in circumstances, but in who Jesus was. Today, we are invited to bring our concerns to Christ with the same humility and trust. We may not know when or how God will answer, but we can believe that His word remains powerful and His care for us never fails.
What situation in my life am I struggling to entrust to Jesus, and can I place it in His hands today, even without knowing the outcome?
Lord Jesus, like the Centurion, help me to approach You with humility and trust. When I'm anxious or uncertain, remind me that Your word is enough. Strengthen my faith to rely on You, even when I cannot see the path ahead. I place my worries, my loved ones, and my future into Your hands. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.
The third day, He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there, He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
