Thank you.
Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin. Yet I tell you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
Therefore, don't be anxious, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? Or with what will we be clothed? For the Gentiles seek after all these things. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore, don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.

The Gospel of the Lord So do not worry and say, What are we to eat? Or what are we to drink? Or what are we to wear? All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil. There are days when our minds run far ahead of us. We think about bills, work, health, relationships and all the things we still have not figured out. Even when nothing has gone wrong yet, our hearts can already feel tired from caring tomorrow before it arrives. Jesus speaks directly into that struggle. He does not deny that we have needs. Food, shelter, responsibilities and worries are part of life. But he reminds us that our heavenly father already knows what we need before we even ask.
Sometimes we spend so much energy trying to secure every outcome that we slowly lose sight of God himself. We become consumed by what might happen next week, next month or next year. Yet Jesus gently brings us back to today.
Seek God first. Stay faithful in today's responsibilities. Pray today. Love today. Forgive today. Trust today. Tomorrow will come with its own challenges, but God will also be there when it arrives.
What is one worry about tomorrow that you need to place into God's hands today?
Lord, you know the worries I carry even before I speak them aloud. Teach me to seek you before anything else. Help me not to be consumed by fear about the future, but to trust that you will guide me one day at a time.
