June 14, 2026, 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest.
He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out and to heal every disease and every sickness. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter, Andrew, his brother, James, the son of Zebedee, John, his brother, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, the tax collector, James, the son of Alphaeus, Labias, who was also called Thaddeus, Simon, the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Jesus sent these twelve out and commanded them, saying, Don't go among the Gentiles, and don't enter into any city of the Samaritans. Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.

The Gospel of the Lord.
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. The crowds followed Jesus everywhere. Some were sick. Some were lost. Some carried burdens nobody else noticed. Yet, when Jesus looked at them, he did not see interruptions or problems. He saw people who needed care. Many of us know what it feels like to keep going while feeling worn out inside. We may smile, work, reply messages, and continue with daily life, while carrying fears, disappointments, loneliness, or uncertainty that nobody fully understands. Jesus noticed the people others overlooked. He still does.
His compassion was not distant. He stepped into their struggles. He taught them, healed them, fed them, and stayed with them. That same heart has not changed today. Sometimes, we wait until life becomes unbearable before turning back to God. Yet, this verse reminds us that Jesus already sees what we are carrying, even before we find the words to say it.
We do not need to pretend we have everything together before coming to Him.
What burden have you been carrying silently that you need to place before Jesus today? Jesus, thank you for seeing me fully, even the parts of my life I hide from others. When I feel tired, lost, or overwhelmed, remind me that I'm not abandoned. Lead me gently and help me trust your care one day at a time. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.
The third day, He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there, He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
