June 12, 2026, Solanity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

At that time, Jesus answered, I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for it was well pleasing in your sight. All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father. Neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

The Gospel of the Lord.
Come to me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. There are days when the weight of life sits heavily on our shoulders. Work, worries, disappointments, family struggles, unanswered prayers, and pressure to keep going can slowly drain us. Sometimes, we become so used to carrying everything alone that we forget we are invited to bring those burdens to Jesus.
What stands out in this gospel is how personal his invitation is. Jesus does not say, fix yourself first. He simply says, come to me. That means we can come to Jesus exactly as we are. Tired, frustrated, confused, discouraged, even faith that feels weak can still walk toward him.
Jesus also speaks about his yoke. A yoke is something carried, but unlike the burdens we create for ourselves, his yoke is shared. He walks with us. He teaches us a different way to live, not through pride or pressure, but through humility, patience and trust in the Father.
Many of us spend our lives trying to prove our worth, trying to hold everything together, trying not to disappoint others. Yet, Jesus reminds us that we were never meant to carry life without him. There is strength in surrendering what we cannot control. What burden have I been carrying alone instead of placing into the hands of Jesus? Lord Jesus, you see the burdens I carry, even the ones I hide from others. Teach me to come to you instead of trying to handle everything on my own. Help me trust that you walk beside me each day. Give me a heart that learns from your humility and love. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.
The third day, he arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there, he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
