At that time, Jesus answered, I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for it was well-pleasing in your sight. All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father. Neither does anyone know the Father except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

The Gospel of the Lord At that time, Jesus exclaimed, I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, you have revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.
Jesus praises the Father because the truths of God's kingdom are revealed to little ones. He is not speaking against learning or knowledge. Rather, he is pointing to a heart that remains humble, open and willing to receive.
It is possible to know many things about God and yet miss him. We can become so focused on finding answers, solving problems or relying on our own understanding that we forget to simply come before him as children. A child does not pretend to have everything figured out. A child trusts. Throughout the Gospels, those who encountered Jesus most deeply were often not the religious experts or the influential people. They were ordinary men and women who recognized their need for him. They listened, they followed, they believed. Faith is not about having all the answers. It is about knowing who to turn to when we do not. Today, Jesus invites us to lay down the need to appear strong, knowledgeable or self-sufficient. He invites us to approach the Father with sincerity and trust, allowing him to reveal himself to us in ways that cannot be learned from books alone.
Are there areas of my life where I'm relying more on my own understanding than on God's guidance? What would it look like to approach him with the trust of a child today?
Heavenly Father, thank you for revealing yourself to those who come before you with humble hearts. Teach me to trust you more and to depend less on my own understanding. Help me remain open to your guidance and willing to follow where you lead. Draw me closer to you each day through your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell.
The third day, he arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there, he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
**SPEAKER_1** (6:11)
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
