Forget Me Not

July 29, 2026

Is there anything in my life that I know God is asking me to let go of so that I can follow Him more faithfully?
**SPEAKER_1** (0:26)
Let's go to the next part of the podcast, which is called The Holy Gospel. Let's read it one more time. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
The angels will come and separate the wicked from among the righteous, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Jesus said to them, Have you understood all these things? They answered him, Yes, Lord, he said to them. Therefore, every scribe who has been made a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a householder, who brings out of his treasure new and old things. When Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there.

**SPEAKER_2** (1:24)
The Gospel of the Lord Jesus said to his disciples, The kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full, they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad, they throw away.
The net in Jesus' parable gathers every kind of fish without choosing first.
Only later comes the moment of sorting. In the same way, we meet all kinds of experiences, thoughts, habits and relationships throughout life. Some draw us closer to God. Others slowly pull us away. It is easy to focus on what other people are doing. But Jesus turns our attention back to ourselves. He invites us to examine our own hearts before worrying about anyone else's. Are we becoming more loving, more forgiving, and more willing to follow. Him? Or are we holding on to things that keep us from growing?
God is patient with us. He gives us time to change, to repent, and to choose what is good. Every new day is another opportunity to let go of what does not belong and to become the person. He created us to be.
Is there anything in my life that I know God is asking me to let go of so that I can follow. Him more faithfully?
Lord, thank. You for. Your patience and mercy. Help me to be honest about the condition of my heart. Give me the courage to let go of what keeps me from. You and to choose what is good each day. Shape my life so that it reflects. Your love and truth.
Amen.
