Forget Me Not

July 23, 2026

Is there something God has been trying to teach me that I have ignored, delayed, or allowed distractions to push aside?

Thank you for your time.

Hear, then, the parable of the farmer. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and doesn't understand it, The evil one comes. And snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sewn by the roadside. What was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it. Yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
What was sown among the thorns? This is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word. And he becomes unfruitful. What was sown on. Let's-
This is he who hears the word and understands it, who most certainly bears fruit and produces some 100 times as much, some 60, and some 30

The Gospel of the Lord. Jesus said to. His disciples, Hear the parable of the sower. The seed sown on the path. Is the one who hears the word of the kingdom? Without understanding it, and the evil one comes and steals away what was sown in his heart. The seed sown on rocky ground? Jesus explains that the same seed is scattered everywhere, but the results are different because each heart responds differently. The problem is never with the seed. God's word is always full of life. The difference lies in whether we are willing to receive it. There are times when we hear the Gospel, yet our thoughts are already somewhere else. Worries, distractions, pride or past hurts can keep God's message from taking root. Before long, what we heard fades away and nothing changes.
A heart that stays open to God grows little by little. Every prayer, every act of forgiveness, every step of obedience makes the soil richer. We may not see the growth right away, but God is always at work in a heart that continues to welcome. Him.
Today, Jesus invites us not just to listen, but to let His Word remain with us. A single verse lived out is worth far more than many verses quickly forgotten.
Is there something God has been trying to teach me that I have ignored, delayed, or allowed distractions to push aside? Lord Jesus, prepare my heart to receive Your Word each day. Remove whatever keeps me from listening to. You with faith and trust.
Help me not only to hear. Your voice, but to live what. You teach so that my life may bear fruit for. Your glory. Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
