Hey, it's Cramer and this is my morning take on the market from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting.
David Faber (0:58)
Let's get to Starbucks. You spoke to Brian Nicol this morning on Squawk. This was down pre-market, but it has reversed. I think there was a lot of signs of progress here. The biggest one being comps finally turned positive up 1%. We're looking for down.38.
Jim Cramer (1:14)
With October moving?
David Faber (1:16)
Yes. September, US comps were strong. He said that continued in October. Positive, I should say, mate. Guidance is going to come at the Investor Day, but some things I want to highlight from the interview on Squawk on the Street, he called this quarter a critical moment in the turnaround, and they are ahead of schedule.
Jim Cramer (1:34)
Which is different, remember? He was not there before.
David Faber (1:37)
Highest number of customer complements in five years. Complaints are down 10%, saying all age demographics are noting progress, which is much, it's very different from what we heard from Chipotle, which is just crushing the restaurant category today.
Jim Cramer (1:50)
Chipotle, they try to blame the consumer, and yet the consumer is willing to pay six bucks for a triple bet the cappuccino is getting wet. I will tell you that when I speak to Brian Nicol, who was not urging me, this is really important, not urging me to be that bullish, not in the last four months, changed that and said, Jim, I'm giving you the ability to say what you've been waiting to say, point out this is how long it took for him to change Chipotle. He is doing things that are really extraordinary. In the day parts, he's taking care of the morning. He's got scale. He's got scale in drive through. He's got scale in delivery. He's going to take on the afternoon. This is a terrific story for our viewers.
David Faber (2:30)
And they closed all of the stores that didn't fit their coffee house model, or they were losing money.
Jim Cramer (2:35)
Right, so you're going to be able to see much better confidence as they get rid of the bad confidence.
David Faber (2:39)
So with the stock, I know when it was down last night, we said we wanted to buy it. Still want to buy it here up above.
Jim Cramer (2:43)
Yeah, now look, I mean, this stock may be up because of my interview, and people are going to want to can say, listen, that's just a Squawk on the Street interview. You don't want to buy it. You want to wait till the fine tuning people want to wait till it's back on chain.
