Jim Cramer (1:00)
Hey, it's Cramer, and this is my morning take on the market from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting.
Jeff Marks (1:07)
The banks have also made, they're off to a really hot start this year.
Jim Cramer (1:10)
Do you think they're a parabolic move, or do you think we shouldn't be trimming some of them, maybe?
Jeff Marks (1:14)
Well, look, I think earnings next week, right, we'll see JPMorgan Tuesday, Wells Fargo Wednesday, Goldman Thursday. It has been an extraordinary run. I'm personally, I'm feeling a little bit greedy in some of these names. I know we did trim BlackRock earlier this week. But I think in terms of the setup, when the banks are just so hot into earnings, you usually see a pullback. So I'm just mindful of that. They were pretty big positions, Capital One, Goldman Sachs.
Jim Cramer (1:39)
They sure are. Wells Fargo has been great for us. I would tell you that this is, I think, the Capital One. We sold some at $240 and changed, right? Changed it. It's up 10 A quick 10 And this one is obviously a transformational, perhaps therefore a PE enhancing on a 12 times earnings multiple. But at the same time, Jamie Dimon starts and Jamie Dimon is notoriously cautious and I think he'll be even more cautious, given the fact about what's happened in Venezuela.
Jeff Marks (2:05)
Yeah. I mean, there's also scrutiny around valuations, Wolf Research. They downgraded four bank stocks today, including JPMorgan, Bank of America, US. Bancorp, M&T Bank. So we're restricted in trading these. This will be mentioned in the air.
Jim Cramer (2:17)
Yeah, and that must bother me because I'd like to do some trimming today.
Jeff Marks (2:20)
But yeah, it's just something worth thinking about.
