Jim Cramer here to share with you a sample of my take on the market from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting. Our call last night on speculation is playing out. I want to sell speculation and buy quality after speculation is sold because initially everything gets taken down. The warning was really about nuclear, about quantum, about extraneous companies that are flying cars, about healthcare that is too speculative to invest in. But I did not mean to sell something like an Nvidia, which I think is really good, but I can understand Nvidia going down without a problem.
SPEAKER_3 (1:40)
It's unprofitable companies, I think you're probably a little bit more worried about.
Jim Cramer (1:43)
Exactly right, non-quality versus quality.
SPEAKER_3 (1:46)
Well look, anytime a stock goes up, call it 15, 20% in a straight line, it's always a warning sign for us to take a little bit off the table. I always go back to Broadcom, the move it recently had, took some off at 362
Jim Cramer (2:02)
Parabolic.
SPEAKER_3 (2:02)
It's already pulled back 10% since then. It's a great company, profitable, a great long-term thesis to it, but sometimes in the short run, things get a little bit ahead of themselves.
Jim Cramer (2:13)
Well, Micron too. Micron was up 40% going into the number. Now, it's went from 172, I think. It's already down to 150s. I want to emphasize that this is...
We haven't had this for a while. This is why I don't like parabolic. This is why I don't like UUUU going up so much, or Ockland going up. That brings out insider selling. It brings out the skepticism, and it gets a lot of bad money into a stock, which is that someone coming in, if their stock's up 300%, it's just not a great place to be.
SPEAKER_3 (2:44)
We're also seeing the 10-year yield higher today. This comes as we actually got some pretty good economic data, GDP, 3.8%. We're just looking for 3.3%.
Jobless claims lower than expected.
Jim Cramer (2:57)
I know. To me, this is that problem I said with Home Depot, which is that Home Depot won't work if the numbers are strong.
And Home Depot is not working. So, I mean, you know what? I don't want to sell quality. You sell a Danahart before you sell a Home Depot. Danahart used to be quality, but it's now health care, and health care is not working. But when you take a look at Home Depot, it's had a very big run from here, and we bought it all the way down. But the problem is that if the mortgage rates go up, people are going to avoid this sector. Now, there is a lot of home equity loan business.
SPEAKER_3 (3:32)
And that's the short end.
Jim Cramer (3:34)
From the short end.
The stock trades are no longer. Even as it should.
SPEAKER_3 (3:37)
Mortgage rates tied to the 10-year. I mean, look, right before the Fed cut, you were looking at a 4% on the 10-year. Now it's almost at 4.2.
Jim Cramer (3:46)
Well, would you trim this? Even though it was at 4.21, would you trim it?
SPEAKER_3 (3:52)
It's a good debate. I mean, I do think they're, you know, given the tough environment, they're doing better than some other companies.
