I'm Jim Cramer, and you're about to hear a sample taken directly from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting. Eli Lilly.

Jeff Marks (1:09)

Well, it's a big win today for Eli Lilly, as you can see the stock up almost 15 percent.

Jim Cramer (1:14)

It's not done. It's not, because it became a one-horse race after this, because the pill, people hate shots. 80 percent of people hate shots.

Jeff Marks (1:25)

Yeah.

Jim Cramer (1:25)

Injections. So they tend to get off injections, so they get off this thing before they should. They don't like to go, katoom, katoom. These are all, like I take this one for my brain, and it does hurt, and I don't like it. I always have to look forward to Monday. I have to take it. I don't want it. If I had a pill, I'd take it in a second. This is a pill.

Jeff Marks (1:42)

Yeah, so we're talking, of course, about an oral GLP-1 pill, phase three data Eli Lilly announced today. And this is for a diabetes trial, not OBC. Well, that one's coming in the third quarter. But it was good. With GOVI, Ozempic, like efficacy. So you're getting an injection like efficacy, but through a once daily pill. But most importantly, the safety and tolerability, very consistent with injectable therapies. So that was a big win. We've seen other companies struggle with some of the safety and tolerability issues. Pfizer just continued working on their pill because of safety and tolerability.

Jim Cramer (2:18)

Viking's Nowhere. Remember that Viking was supposed to be something?

Jeff Marks (2:21)

Yeah. Look, I mean, it is now a very small biotech now. But I think we're learning.

Jim Cramer (2:26)

Abugeneron has something, but in two years. Amgen is something in the spring, but this spring. But I don't think it'll be as effective as people say.

Jeff Marks (2:35)

Well, look, yeah. So David Ricks said earlier this year, he expects this pill to get approved by the FDA early 2026 This is going to be a huge opportunity, as you mentioned, because it's just so much easier to make. It's much easier to take. According to Faxset, analysts expect this drug to drive about a half billion in sales in 2026, increasing to 1.6 billion in 2027 So just another big asset Eli Lilly has in the pocket.

Jim Cramer (3:04)

Let me tell you, devil's advocate here. We have seen this stock reverse. We bought stock when it got hit here.

Jeff Marks (3:11)

Yeah, we didn't buy any in the recent sell-off here.

Jim Cramer (3:14)

Well, okay, well, all right, then we cancel.

Jeff Marks (3:16)

Yeah. I forget.

Jim Cramer (3:18)

I'm trapped.

Jeff Marks (3:19)

Yeah, but well, look, I think this is great news.

Jim Cramer (3:21)

Well, it's great news, but I'm not gonna have another meeting like we had yesterday, where I had to sit here and eat crow for things I did, where I did not take grains. I'm not gonna have that happen again.

Jeff Marks (3:34)

Well, look, I think that's always, we're always trying to stay disciplined. We talked about that yesterday after Parabolic Moves. This one I think is a little different because it is driven by a successful trial. However, to be fair, we are still waiting for some tariff clarity on these pharmaceutical tariffs.

Jim Cramer (3:55)
