I'm Jim Cramer, and you're about to hear a sample taken directly from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting.
Today the news is dominated by the fact that President Putin has said, look, if Ukraine is going to launch long-range missiles and these cavities toward Moscow, toward major city, then nuclear war is back on the table. Now I don't think anyone felt that this was not the case. This is why President Biden wasn't going to authorize these because they feared exactly this. That said, Jeff, if there is no plan to use missiles to do anything other than take out the Kursk salient, so to speak, then I think that this is going to be much ado about nothing and you should be doing some buying, which is what we've done.
Jeff Marks (0:44)
Yeah, we keep cash for volatile moments exactly like this, where you have the market down, everything down at the open, every sector in the red, and then you look for stocks that shouldn't be down, where you disagree, where they actually could be up. And we singled out CrowdStrike as one of those stocks, because if you think about it, if there really is this big escalation in geopolitics, there's probably going to increase the cyber threat environment and governments and countries are going to need more secure solutions. So we used to do the trade when it was down, and now I agree with that it should be up on the, yeah.
Jim Cramer (1:20)
Now, I mean, look, people have to understand, there's CrowdStrike and there's Palo Alto. Palo Alto, there may be a judging from Portnet, there may be like a reformation when it comes to the firewall.
Jeff Marks (1:30)
Firewall, yeah, people are talking about that. Maybe 25, 26 Palo Alto reports tomorrow evening, Wednesday evening. So we'll hear more from them later.
Jim Cramer (1:38)
Now remember, it historically has had problems when it reports. If the story is not right, you might see it drop. We have bought the drop. It's been a very good thing for us to do.
I don't know whether it will drop or not, but I am kind of anticipating that there could always be volatility. How about that?
Jeff Marks (1:53)
Sure, sure. But because of the tensions, you do have yields falling today. That has been a point of frustration for the markets. You have seen yields get to on the 10-year get to around four, you know, call it four or five.
Jim Cramer (2:07)
Right, four or five is, I think, just a way station to five. I think that we have a great, we have great economic strength, but it depends on where it is. In the data center, yes. In the building of new plants, yes. In infrastructure, yes. In housing, no. In auto, no. And that's the things we have to look at.
