Jim Cramer (1:04)
I'm Jim Cramer, and you're about to hear a sample taken directly from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting.
Jeff Marks (1:12)
Oscillator, still a little bit overbought. We did make a sale, a trim yesterday. We've been trimming so many winners. Winners have to also trim the losers, right? That's portfolio management. If you only sell your winners, you'll just be stuck with a bunch of losers. So we trimmed Coterra Energy.
Jim Cramer (1:27)
Coterra Energy has been missing and missing. I like Coterra, and I like the natural gas story. They have natural gas and they have oil, but they have not benefited from the rise in natural gas at all. And they've had some series of executions, very unfortunate, in oil. That's how you lose me as someone who's a backer.
Jeff Marks (1:46)
Absolutely. There was some good news from Starbucks this morning. They received potential offers for a potential steak sale in its China business per CNBC. It could value the business up to $10 billion. Exactly what we've wanted Brian Nicolau to do and said that he would do is he would explore everything.
Jim Cramer (2:02)
If you don't own it, you should buy it. Here's what's going on with Starbucks as I see it. What he's doing is saying, you know what, if I can sell a piece of this thing for a nice chunk, let's go do it. He's totally aware, by the way, of what happened with YUM and YUM China because he worked at Taco Bell. So this is not someone who says, he's not some rogue from the consumer package.
Jeff Marks (2:26)
And his main focus is getting, and rightfully so, is getting the United States business back on track.
Jim Cramer (2:32)
And I think he's doing, I think you're going to start seeing some easy comparisons.
Jeff Marks (2:35)
Capital One, maybe just briefly talk about this. Resumed coverage, Morgan Stanley overweight. They call the Discover deal a game changer. It was upgraded to the SGA at Cowan.
Jim Cramer (2:43)
Again, the numbers here are way too low. The estimates are way too low. And I have said to people, I was huge into saying this. I'm not backing away. On the annual meeting, I'm still going to say that you can buy Capital One. That's how powerful this move is.
Jeff Marks (2:55)
We should talk about this. Apple's Chief Operating Officer transition, Jeff Williams transitioning out of the role, retiring later this year. Second big departure this year. You had the CFO, Luca Maestri, retire. At the end of the step down at January 1st.
Jim Cramer (3:09)
I don't like turnover. I don't like turn over. I don't like rapid turn over. You know that I have, we did a piece from May of Money, which said that Apple's probably fairly valued 20 points from here, 20 points lower. I don't like this kinds of transition.
Jeff Marks (3:24)
No, certainly.
Jim Cramer (3:24)
We have to wait till next year.
Jeff Marks (3:25)
Yeah, maybe some succession plans are being questioned too, but I guess the one thing from turn over would be, maybe you get some new faces in charge. Maybe they are more aggressive on the AI front.
Jim Cramer (3:39)
Maybe they do a deal for people.
Jeff Marks (3:40)
Yeah, exactly.
Jim Cramer (3:41)
The no brainer of Daniel Lines.
Jeff Marks (3:42)
You don't know exactly the inner workings there, so I don't know, just an idea.
