I'm Jim Cramer and you're about to hear a sample taken directly from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting. The new company that we endorse, which is Corning, this is a company I spent a lot of time with in Kentucky, in Harrodsburg. This is the company that I think is going to be able to make it so the data center is not going to be that hot because glass doesn't burn as hot as copper. It is an extraordinary company. It's been in it for a long time. You said, well, Jim, where were you in this? Well, the fact is that very few people felt that glass was going to play that big a role in the data center, and it is.

Jeff Marks (1:36)

Yeah, as UBS pointed out when they upgraded the stock back in September, that AI data centers have four to six times more fiber content than legacy cloud switches for some of the reasons that you just outlined. They also are a big supplier to Apple. I mean, you were with Wendel Weeks in Kentucky talking about that big commitment.

They produce all the cover glass on the iPhones and Apple watches. So you can see the pointing here.

Jim Cramer (2:04)

And I'm not going to, I mean, let's make it clear. A foldable phone is there, and a foldable phone could be used.

Jeff Marks (2:10)

Yeah, that could be next year. That's glass, that's what we're seeing.

Jim Cramer (2:13)

That's all the glass that can be folded. It is a monument to engineering. These guys are great engineers.

Jeff Marks (2:18)

You know, what I like, too, about the management team there, they also have this springboard initiative, which they launched in the fourth quarter of 2023 The goal was that management, they were committed to increasing annualized sales by five billion and also expanding margins by 400 basis points to 20% by the end of 2026 Well, this past March, they actually raised their internal sales target by a billion. So I think that's a good reflection of not only the demand that the business is seeing, but the company's ability to execute on its goals.

Jim Cramer (2:51)

Yes. Look, I don't want to say Apple is not their only business. They have a lot of businesses.

Jeff Marks (2:55)

Yeah. I mean, they're in life sciences, TV displays, automotive as well. So a lot of different end markets here. Yeah.

Jim Cramer (3:02)

Look, a very well-run company, Corning in New York. People didn't talk about it, but people realized, including Tim Cook, that this is the best maker of glass in the world. They started making this because Steve Jobs called them and said, listen, I want the glass that's indestructible.

What are we going to say? He flew down there and he said, give me indestructible glass to Corning. They weren't sure how to do it, but they said, we're going to do it. They did it and they've had the contract ever since. And it's just a great situation. So I'm very excited.

Jeff Marks (3:34)

They report next week, we started with a very small position, half a percent. So a lot of room just in case, I think the numbers are going to be good, but just in case maybe we see some profit taking after a big rum. But that leaves some room to buy and add to the position.
