Jim Cramer here to share with you a sample of my take on the market from today's CNBC Investing Club morning meeting. Jeff, this is not the kind of market that needs this sell off because, oh my, it just means that we had a two day interregnum and we're going back to where we were, which was correction mode as of Thursday. Ugly day, ugly.
Jeff Marks (1:53)
Sure. I mean, look, the oscillator actually moved out of oversold territory yesterday, 3.33 percent. There's still a lot of things that the market needs to figure out, right? Whether it's the economy and Q1, how big of a slowdown there is, and also tariffs too. And so until we have some of that clarity, yeah, I think it's very reasonable to expect continued volatility. It's why we used strength to actually raise some cash last Friday, exiting next tracker. Was it a day early? Yes. But still, I think the point remains, you know, of just being on guard because of how volatile things are.
Jim Cramer (2:33)
Yeah, we might, you know, 1.8 decline in the NASDAQ. We probably have to start looking at things. I have to tell you, one of the things I like is, maybe we should be looking at cyber security, the valuation of this deal, this Wiz deal. I got to tell you, it says the crowd strikes dramatically undervalued, dramatically. And I don't know, but that's, look, I got to acknowledge it. Sure.
Jeff Marks (2:54)
Yeah. So of course, this is Alphabet acquiring Wiz for $32 billion in cash. The deal, it's a big investment for Google Cloud as they try and boost their cybersecurity business there. And it works well with multiple clouds. There's going to be regulatory scrutiny though, Jim. They're saying the deal closes in 2026 So a long ways away. We'll have to see if they can actually get it done. But yeah, it comes at the same time, too.
Jim Cramer (3:23)
I think it's ill-advised, ill-advised.
They've been deemed monopolists by a federal court. I don't understand why they don't realize that they're in the penalty box. One of the reasons why I think the stock's down six. Stock has been a very poor performer. I'm glad that we have very much reduced the size of Google. We didn't like it and we took action and good. I don't want to buy it back, do you?
Jeff Marks (3:51)
Not yet, I think there's other ones that I would grab here. I mean, looking at say Meta, which is down a similar amount today, maybe Amazon too. So if I had to pick some Mag-7 names.
