Hello, it's Joe from Odd Lots, and I just wanted to tell you about a new podcast from Bloomberg. It's called Trillions, and it's all about the ETF industry. And of course, if you listen to Odd Lots, you've heard me and Tracy talk about ETFs a lot of times, the role they're having in the market, the anxiety they're causing, how they're changing everything, how much money is flowing into them.

And we really thought it deserved its own podcast. So you should really check it out. It's called Trillions. It's hosted by Eric Balchunas. He's been on Odd Lots before, knows more about them than basically anyone else, alongside Bloomberg Markets magazine editor Joel Weber. Together, they're going to be exploring their industry, how they're changing the world, all kinds of fascinating stuff. So check it out, Trillions, the new podcast from Bloomberg.

And here's a trailer for the show. Thank you for watching.

Joel Weber (1:04)

Welcome to Trillions, a podcast about the Exchange Traded Fund, which you probably know as the ETF. My name is Joel Weber.

Eric Balchunas (1:13)

And I'm Eric Balchunas.

Joel Weber (1:14)

I'm the editor of Bloomberg Markets Magazine.

Eric Balchunas (1:16)

And I'm an analyst with Bloomberg Intelligence, and we're starting a podcast about ETFs and how they become such a powerful investing tool.

Joel Weber (1:22)

Wait, E-T what?

Eric Balchunas (1:25)

Come on, Joel, you know what an ETF is, an Exchange Traded Fund?

Joel Weber (1:29)

That's true, I know a little bit, but I don't know as much as you.

Eric Balchunas (1:32)

Yeah, I basically spend every waking minute thinking, writing, reading about ETFs. But the problem, even for me, is it's really easy to overcomplicate this stuff.

Joel Weber (1:40)

So we're going to keep things simple. And at the same time, we'll be able to give people who already use ETFs a few nuggets too.

It'll be a little bit like a Pixar movie. Kids get something, mom and dad get something.

Eric Balchunas (1:50)

Yeah, we want you to have a lot of useful information about ETFs, like how they work, how to pick them, how they can help you as an investor, and what to be wary of.

Joel Weber (1:58)

And what makes this podcast unique is that we're going to try and make this topic that feels really daunting to the average investor a little bit more accessible.

Eric Balchunas (2:06)

Yeah, this show will be something that a financial advisor might benefit from, but in a language that my mom can understand. The bottom line is that for many people, ETFs are like another planet, and Joel and I are going to be like your intergalactic tour guides.

Joel Weber (2:18)

And to make this topic fun, we're going to use a little bit of everything under disposal.

Eric Balchunas (2:22)

Some really great guests, a lot of metaphors, a bit of humor, and probably way too many 80s references.

Joel Weber (2:27)

Maybe some from the 90s as well.

Eric Balchunas (2:28)

And 2000s, but not many.

Joel Weber (2:30)

I'm also going to try and eat something on every show.

Eric Balchunas (2:33)

Why?

Joel Weber (2:33)

Because that's sort of like what ETFs are doing in finance. Eating everything.

Eric Balchunas (2:38)

So, look out for our first episode of this great new ETF podcast on November 30th.
